I thought I would present some of my work I have been doing for a while. I mostly do comic book/Fantasy stuff, character concepts and inking. I am writer by trade so I like to work out my characters by drawing them before I go into writing. Woman are what I like to do most, never really got into monsters and stuff but I guess I should do some someday. My fav artists are Michael Turner, Brett Booth, Mike D jr, Rob Liefeld, and Jim Lee-they have inspired my work the most.
Some of these early designs are for a comic book I am design for a new company that is starting up named, Conquest Comics.
A Captain America designs I was playing with before Civil War.
A Thor redesign too, not necessarily Marvel's Thor.
This was a photograph of my school that I changed to looked like a Japanese Landscape picture I did for art class last year.
These next ones are a series of concept pictures of character designs for a comic book that is being published.
First is Velvet, the lead character and my fav to work on.
1st image is the final design while the rest were early designs.
Main male lead, Arkady. Not final design.
Links is my oldest character, been playing with her for some 11 years. Finally get to use her now. She is one of the funniest to work with.
Fuji is the powerhouse of this book. Japanese blind dude-basically the heart and soul of the team.
Halo is the team leader. This is not the final design. He is a pain in the ass to work on.
Psynex is one of the main villains.
The first two are the final designs while the last two are early designs I didn't go with.
The Order Storm Troopers are the foot soldiers of Conquest's main badguy.
I have to give a shot out to my friend Gue for helping get these guys off the ground.
First is a basic Order Officer. The design is influenced by Roman Legions.
The second and last two are the Imperial Guards. Neither is a final design.
Just some basic character designs for the fun of it.
looks like youve taken a lot of influence from 90's image comic artists, taking the style, without much thought being put into anatomy. id really recommend looking at some reference of some kind at least, or better still looking at some anatomy studies by loomis or hogarth, or even past masters sketches. tis really essential to selling your characters that you present them with some semblence of recognisable anatomy.
