Hello, final! I may do some digital touch up but it's all acrylic and tangible. I thought I'd try using some of my paints for a change, maybe learn something.

Pencil drawing on chipboard, intending to paint it and possible digital touch up.

I have pencil sketches clamoring to get near a scanner but for now here's a fast thumb:
placeholder of doom
Trim the wordfat: vampiric disease, souls stored in trees.

grand topic and strange that... I was thinking of ideas on the thruway this morning and soul collector was one of them. Psychic mind trips powered by my coffee addled brain. Here comes another killer round...

Sounds like a blast, something perfect for me. Question, are we talking about an evil creature that gathers souls for wicked or selfish purposes or a psychopomp, who takes the souls of the deceased to the afterlife?

Sweet topic, this is gonna be fun.
Ok, here's some sketches with my basic concept. I gotta work out the mechanics, but the robot-like Collector relies on the organic host for commands:
Finished Soul Collector(UPDATE):
The Soul Collector waits in his lair, lurking in the shadows for unsuspecting prey. His lair is built like a labyrinth, effectively making his victims lose their sense of direction. When the Soul Collector senses body motion, he gets close enough to his prey, where he can immobilize them with his tail stunner. Once the prey is stunned, he begins extracting their soul into one of his multiple soul-preserving containers. The Soul Collector is in charge of acquiring souls for the Omnipotent One, a dark entity that feeds off of souls to sustain it's power. Not much is known on this being, simply because no known human has ever escaped the clutches of the Soul Collector.
