Man, I love that ship with the skull in the clouds. That's great.

Manly, that last drawing of the female with the hat, really very nice!
I'm going to try and throw a couple more things up here.

Figured I'd show this thread a lil' love.
Nothin' special, just some studies from photographs. Was trying to practice my drawing skills and try out a few ink techniques. I rather like how they turned out.
The four people were drawn from photos by Ansel Adams of the Japanese-Americans interned at Manzanar during WWII, the flowers were from a Audubon Society handbook I have.
Also, sorry for the crappy lighting. Maybe one of these days I'll take some photos using sunlight instead of my tiny desk lamp.
-My work can be found at my local directory thread.
In the interest of keeping this particular thread active here's a drawing I did last night. I was inspired after reading a little Lovecraft.
It was done on a 9"x12" sheet of Strathmore series 300 Bristol board. I used an xs Faber-Castell Pitt artist pen.
I'm going to redo this image for couple of different reasons. I'll repost the new one when I'm done.
Here's the second drawing finished this morning.

Jacobo--lovely, classic work.
dgrilla---The mood is very Lovecraftian, definitely the sort of mountains HPL would have described as "cyclopean".
manlybrian--good Ironman, but where're the purple shorts?
Here's a brush and ink with white colored pencil after an illustration the great Mike Ploog did for Ralph Bakshi's movie "Wizards".

I only draw in pen/ink (occasionally over pencil sketches). I adore it, although I am sometimes tempted to try some digital stuff (not that I have the resources for that).
Sometimes I get so lost in the details that the actual...shapes get lost.
Also, Cory Hinman, I adore your expressions.
dgrilla, I love the African dog. Unless it's a hyena, in which case I still love it but apologize.
The ink works were created for a nine panel comic page. These are the original art works without any digital retouch.
Please stop by my sketch book!

may i join?
Hi there, I'm new to posting to this thread. I have had a bunch of ink sitting around in my supplies but it hasn't been until recently that I've really gotten into using it.
The anatomy on the creature isn't particularly good but I like how the wash came out

"This is a paint and pixel-splattered furnace that forges the swords of artistic mastery. This is a place where swarthy and belligerent dwarves drink turpentine mead, berate their apprentices and slap the trade into their skulls. It's where the anvils are made of graphite, the hammers are as true as rectangular marquee selections and the fires burn with the light of a thousand lensflares." --Jason Rainville
2 of my favorite b/w pieces.
This is a commission piece done on watercolor paper with pencil, ink and a little white acrylic.

I love all works posted here.
Great range of tools and techniques.
There are few of my sketches.
I use mostly old fountain pens, Noodlers X-feather ink for black lines, Ecoline for grays. I love bamboo pen too, but it is not so quick as fountain pen.
Gressnick, really nice work. The sketch of the woman on the stool is just perfect.
A pair of shoes using ink
Beautiful work with the ink wash. Some really great stuff here. Any chance some of you posters can add what materials (as specific as possible) you use? Types of ink, brushes, pens, twigs horsehair...whatever.
I love looking at people's inkwork. There's some inspiring stuff in this thread!
I've got some ink sketches I did on vacation so I might as well throw some of it up here:
These all got inked on site so they're a little wobbly.
