    Supercool Lego Sculptures

Not of the life-sized variety, however, which mkaes them all the more impressive, in my opinion:

The sculptor himself is a bit of a dickhead but his work stands on its own. Check 'em out!

For some reason, I'd never before imagined that there would be an online custom Lego figure making community, complete with technical discussion of the uses of various obscure Lego bricks and parts. It makes complete sense that such a community does though. It's the internets, after all.

Awesome stuff, though. I agree that the small scale makes them more impressive. It forces you to make more economical and innovative use of the parts.

It's all pretty neat, but the thing that really impresses me is ... when you run your cursor over the pic, little boxes come up where other people have made a comment about one little area in the pic. That looks like it could be useful in the crits center on CA!

I have a million Lego bookmarks. It's a pity Lego won't make any cool official kits, their mecha stuff kinda sucks. They could atleast sell loose parts in a better manner.

You know, it might actually be a good idea to build a robot idea with Legos before drawing or painting it. Just think how much easier it would be to draw a mech if you had a functioning scale model that you could reference to see how the light affects the various planes. Plus the little lines between the Lego bricks would make good "busy" details (I find it difficult to come up with mechanical looking details when drawing machines). Too bad I don't have any Legos anymore.
