    Post your animations!

Well, show us what ya got! A lot of you designers and illustrators here are kick-ass animators and it's about time we started sharing ideas and our work here.

My most recent animated work is from 2003 (oops..) but these are the exercises I did in my stop-motion animation class. I think these were some of the first files I posted on CA actually way back when.

This one was my final, with the most elaborate sets and puppet. We filmed this old school and used a bolex camera and no lunchbox to preview the frames. It's clumsy at times, but at least it will explain my avatar

I also have a lip sync exercise here: OMG SO LAST SUMMER!

And an acting exercise with sounds of increasing volumes: Poor Boris...

Here's a primitive turn sheet for the main character as well:

    Ok, who's up next?

Great. I like this "Poor boris" one.

I'm not kick-ass animator but I tried out something. Nothing special . Hope these will work.

Steph - I remember those. looks like alot of fun.

Farvus - good stuff. Animating in perspective is extra hard. and you got the timing and spacing pretty well on the box.

0kelvin - awsome! The epic smiley rocks!

Quitsune - Nice! Snail racer is cool idea!

These two are just putzing around for relaxation. the spam dude is just a few frames strung together tweaking the delay in Image Ready

the green thing is for CGChat #38 Pokemon comp.

There was a rotoscope attempt before I got bored out of my mind tracing the same lines over and over. I was only doing 2 seconds @ 24fps or so from that Keaneu Reaves movie about him being part of the war between heaven and hell. Got about half way through and gave up.

most my school crap is lost on VHS unfortunately. One fun one was a pilsburry doughboy looking character singing the sodomy song from Meet the Feebles, I actually sent that as part of my flash portfolio one time the rest was histroy. Lost that too. :/ Oh well. fun times in school.

Fuck I need to do more animation instead spending time modeling and texturing.

Some of my first animations ever. 2 years old at the least. I need to take some frames out on the mime and add more into the weight challenge, but I'd just redo them. Nothing beats traditional, I love it. Even though cleanup is a bitch. if I can get my hands on Retas, a nice scanner, and a camera, and a proper rig for pencil tests I'd be set. but I'm gonna keep it too 3d rightnow, and maybe paperless animation on the comp.

I'll put some 3d stuff up later. Sorry though none of the animations are thought out stories, I'm working on one right now called Gods Shooting Gallery, so hopefully I can get that done soon enough.

I still got a loooong way to go.

Good idea, I often wonder who on CA animates as well as does design stuff.
Here's my showreel from last year, before I realised I wasnt much of an animator *pulls out miniature violin*

monstertree those are actually not bad at all. Animation like anything just takes time. Takes experience and alot of observation to have an eye for timing and acting.

Latest work. Pretty hefty file size-wise (397kb), so thanks if you have the patience to load.

Vear, that demo reel is nice! Is that Trapcode Particular at work in the 2nd/3rd clip with the purple hue? If that's hand animated I'm going to wet myself.

    Great landscapes and stylized waterfall!

    Did/do you go to school?

Thank you Very much Earendil! I'm glad you liked it! I just graduated about four months ago from the art institutes of California--San Francisco. The KQED clip isn't trapcode, it's the standard particle system in After Effects... the Map with all the dots is hand animated... that one took a little while :} the waterfall in my landscape piece is trap code tho, I do so love that plugin. and Thank you, Hito! I need to work on my character animation... it's nowhere where I want to be. thanks again, I'll post more as soon as I can, Steph ;).

Here's my music video, that has several animated elements. Yay it works!

When did you do this Soja? It's good even if I don't like the music.

Here is an After Effects test to create a waterfall, combined with Photoshop.
