Miles, nice to see you keep working hard man...
First of all, your values keep improving, at least for me, and they are looking pretty solid man
I know you like crits like me, so, I think the last portrait, seems pretty bad
when it comes to proportions, just as Lyno said, and actually her head
seems really off from her body, like, if they aren't united, dunno how to explain it, seems pretty unnatural, other than that, it looks really good

If you have time visit my sketchbook and tell me what you think =)

    keep it up

Give my sketchbook a visit and tell me what you think n.n

    Thank you very much guys for the useful feedback but I'm in a hurry right now, so sorry no individual replies:{

New WIP Liking this, probably 5 hours so far. Fairly quick for me. Wanted a kind of story book atmosphere. Been so inspired by Bumskee. That man is a god.

I'll post again with the final and some details when its done.

I think my favourite part of this image is how you handled the blood specularity.

Thank you for your visit. I looked at your stuff and I'm very impressed. You have a bright future ahead of you if you keep working hard like that. But remember to have fun before you get old and grumpy.

Looking cool man. Only thing id keep an eye on is the face. I think we'd still see very faded contours of the face. but that's just me anyway :] keep working man !

DAMN, that looks awesome. The eye sockets seem a little high up, though. The left hand also looks like it wouldn't be able to be attached to his arm (unless his lefty is magically longer).

    Looks great, though.

    wooo nice!

Only but a few suggestions. I think if there were a few cast shadows of branches over his body it would really set him into the scene. The dark under his hood seems overkill dark - or rather, hints of bouned light would be neat to see instead of a flat mass. could also make the hood material more work and thicker feeling, and other nitpicking nonsense! Great

Awesome ! You really improved ! May i suggest something : for the blood in the forearm, i think that the place of the blood isn't really realistic, I agree that hands can be full of blood, but you can stop blood at the half of the forearm, ad then, add some sparkles of blood, the the rest of the arm ! Anyway keep working !

Wtf? You just got so much better it's incredible. Only crit is that he looks wierd without pants (men don't usually show their thighs ). And the highlight on his arm appears too strong, so it looks like his skin is wet or something. Some bushes and texture in the back could also help unify the image a bit.

I seriously need to keep up with you soon. I really love the pencils. And the face to the last guy is really cool. Love the condensating water from his breath. Great stuff Miles, keep it up

Nice wip of the painting, the colours work really well and the blood looks awesome

the far arm and hand is looking a little confused with the handle, I don't know, maybe the form and sillouhetter need to be ismplified to make it easier to read.

Looks great. Though, I don't get the feeling that the camera angle is as tilted as the earlier iteration.

I think the alignment of the sword is a bit off,it looks like the tang(the metal bit inside the grip)is coming through at a different point to the wood.

The new counter balance makes a lot more sense but I'm still not sure if the sword would actually be practical.
i think maybe cut the length of the grip in half.its about the length of his outstretched arms,so if he swung it horizontally the counter balance would be on his chest.Im not sure,it might just be me.

Other than that i think its a really nice piece, the reworked trees in the background look great, makes the forest feel way deeper and really adds to the atmosphere.Cant wait to see this when its finished.
