haha, dude is that army guy a self portrait???
DUDE! This one is turning out really well! Just a thought, could be wrong, but because the light source is so warm I would try and squeeze some more cools into the shadows, especially on his skin.
wow 15 years old only.. your fucking talented!
i really like your painting in photoshop, can you give me some links on where you learned it? or was it just experimenting mostly?
Just realized I hadn’t posted in here yet..! But duuude, awesome sketchbook! You’re really working hard and it seems you’re enjoying it too. Last one’s looking good, I’m curious though – what is he counting on his right arm? Figured it’s something like people he killed or times he escaped death haha.. =P Keep up the great work

Would he walk upon the water If he couldn’t walk away?
And would you, Would you carry the torch for me?
maaaaan you're my hero, your paintings are awesome, i'm 8 years older then you and i don't have a clue how to get at least half good as you ;] you're a big inspiration for me, cheers
Jake Kobrin haha, not intentionally, I just gotta vary my faces more D:
D@nielyeah, cooled the shadows, dunno if I overdid it, but I think I'll call it done now
Walid D Waaah, thanks man, but I have only have laymans knowledge of colour theory, and stuff like that. I am currently trying to learn colour theory properly, without spamming on the overlay layers, I hope to phase out using them completely over the next year. The only reason I use them at the moment, is because I like to start in black and white to get the values right first.
maeshanne thank uou
Galaxis hoho thanks man, I wanna get talented regardless of my age
My57 yeah, just experimenting really, if you look back over this book, you will see many failed shitty experiments haha, you just have to perceviere! Also, photostudies, life studies and try starting in black and white, its easier to just think about values, rather than value hue and saturation. thanks
Evergreythanks man, I guess either of those would do haha, didn't put all that much thought into it, D:
KanoaRodgers yeah he used to be quite the mentor, but I'm too busy to be on msn all that much, so we don't talk all that much, but yes he taught me a lot of ins and outs of photoshop. I do plan to stop with the overlays, and I agree I use them excessively, but they do have their purpose, as just using them on their own won't look good if you dont make the right choices about why you use each colour ect. Still I feel it is more of a crutch than a tool to me. Its more so I can get accurate values, after that I basically paint in colour barr a few adjustments every now and then. Thanks man
syms D: waahm thats a great thing to hear, It pleases me to hear you find this inspiring
So, finished this painting, gonna be working in pencil and colour again for a while. I like this balance of doing studies for a week and a bit then doing a big painting.
ah thanks, i think i will try what you said. im just starting painting in photoshop and still getting used to the sketching in it.
Nice work miles, i really like your sketchin and paintin. Last painting looks good with colour choice just check some tones and the size of some things like he knife hilt. Keep knocking out art man.
hey thanks, i try to experiment, but what are your settings for your brush? the opacity, flow, hardness, etc. Like what you usually put it to when you start. I tried painting already but i didn't like how soft it looked.
lookin' reeeeal good
15 years old? Wow. You have really great work. Keep doing what your doing, your on the right track.
ruuhkis thanks man
My57 well as I kind of merged response to your comments. Um, well to start I use sort of textured brushed and just mess around in black and white. The first priority if its an illustration is to get rid of all the black canvas, and to just mess around with different shapes. for characters, try starting with a hard edges brush with only size set to pen pressure, and not opacity. I find working with the shapes in silloutes easier than line sometimes. Keep at it
SamC haha thanks man, I'll check out you're sketchbook again
archi thanks man
JustineBeckettthanks man, it means a lot coming from you
jedininjaman yeah I figure the back arm doesnt really work, but I won't really go back to it now though. Thanks man.
Okay, been in Dubai for a week visiting my dad, what a city:0 We ended up with a suite on the 44th floor of this hotel. Anyway, been very busy, so not all that much time drawing. Basically only two things I feel like sharing. Thanks guys
Of course the self portait came out looking like a psycopath

15-year old taking over the world...
mmm you definitely found out another shading method
your face in the samurai one needs work, and the self portrait looks good. Your shading is quite nice. Feet may be a little small for the samurai though as well.
Hey Miles, ive looked at every single page of your sketch book being amazed that someone my age could do this. I aslo want to be a concept artist for video games and to become a great artist. Try and stop by my Sketchbook and tell me if im heading in the right way or not toward my goal. Keep doin what your doin dude, your awesome.
Dude! I wish I was half as good when I was 15. Keep it up.
