This one has a nice silhouette. It's good to run off the inspiration from Marko, it'll definitely take you some where. It's also a bit rushed is some parts. You have this nice form in the front of this blade, but some rushed edges break the believability. It is hard to hide anything with a character design like this.

Marko does say to take as long as you need to. You'll will get faster at it. Learn as much as you can with each element of the drawing as not to rush it.

I've always been jealous of you're talent and your development so far. Cheers!

Great work on the last one, the rendering around the head area is really pleasing! It seems a lot more controlled than your previous efforts, and is that Jessica Alba I can see referenced in there?
The body lets it down a bit though, the rendering is a lot sloppier and the legs are really huge in comparison with the upper body. Keep working hard mate, it's paying off little by little

Well this is another comission for www.newboldworld.com but really for me its a chance to practice painting into colour. Tell me what you think guys, useful crits much appriciated. God I wanna get a job that involves some intersting costume design. Been so busy I've only had time for this less interesting stuff.

    Thanks everyone!

    Still completely a W.I.P

    Icon chugging on..

OMertA Yeah fleshtones are meant to be darker kinda, like hispanic or something. Think the face doesnt really resemble the character its meant to be:/ oh well.

Mr DCheers man I've been trying to get that arm right with a mirror an stuff. Its a tricky bastard

I swear as soon as I'm done with all of these boring characters I wanna do something where I actually have to design the costume. Just more progress I guess.

Her hands are really off, I hope you're going to fix them. The one hand has five fingers and one thumb, unless that is her character design.

Hey Miles - Nice characters... ...even if you're finding it boring to work on simple characters try to inject an element of energy. I totally understand the desire to work on something 'more interesting' but work with the characters as if they are alive and you'll find it a lot more fun

For now here is a quick suggestion of the hands/arms/gun position I'd use based on your last pic - on doing a quick google search on 'aiming handgun pic' it seems the support hand would always be grasping around the front of the hand holding the gun though - ah well lol

Also I've highlighted a few areas of the face you could make darker to bring her face to life - looks a little flat at the mo

    Cheers

Blaz yeah haha, that was the face they sent as reference.

CrissCross Of course, I wouldn't send it off unfinishes. thanks.

The Artist Thank you very much man, that was extremely helpful. I tried to mix some tips with your paintover with the original photo pose reference I took. I hope it looks okay, once again thank you for taking the time

Glory Yeah my goal is to try to break into the industry within the next 5 years, before I'm 20. May seem a little far fetched but I thought why not aim high?

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I'm gonna call this one finished for now. Once again this is for www.newboldworld.com and is at around 30% and a 50% crop.
