Great finished piece. Looks solid and I don't really have any critiques on it other than maybe a bit too much definition in the collar bone area. But that good just be because he's majorly jacked-up.

It's nice to see that you also take the time to make a decent background. Where did you get some of those brushes?

Looks nice Miles. One thing that really bugs me is that it seems like you don't always entirely paint things. What I mean is that there'll be like a zipper somewhere or something and you'll just draw a line and call it done instead of painting on it just like you would anything else...
Anyway, talk to you later man! If we get the timezone crap worked out we should do some sketching together!

    Woooo thanks all

    Mr Delicious damn straight!

CrissCross The 'decent background only took like a minute haha. Check out m@'s exclusive sketchbook for all his brushes. Thanks!

    lilnebo Thanks

Jake Kobrin Yeah you're completely right, in the final stages I kinda rush to finish things

    Jack GThanks man!

Dished thanks man I wanna try some linework in sketcher if I can get my damn drivers to work:/ Nice talking the other day, cya around

    Nellin Thanks man

    Spirit haha thanks. I'll try

lilnebo Same age older than you as I always was haha

Harry_ Thanks cuzzz, start a sketchbook sometime this is the place to learn, dont be put of by seemingly harsh comments, they only wanna help ya!

Sketch Yeah I'm pretty sure the ref they gave me was 50 cent

The weekend away gave me a lot of time to do traditional work and try out my pencils again. Was refreshing but reminded me how much I have to learn:/

So here is a doodle from my head, some characters, some life drawing of my cousins cats, a self portrait and some anatomy studies. Fairly pleased with most of it, though there is some crap in there somewhere.

Great update! Your skills with the pencil have vastly improved. I really like the studies of the cats (I love to see other artists animal studies). Also the leg anatomy studies are good too. I'd just watch the anatomy on the guy wearing the hoodie, or it might just be that his clothes are baggy? Other than that nice job

    Asspats all around once again.
You remind to hurry up and get this scanner running so I can post some things. I won't let you beat me!

And if you can, lower the contrast on your scannings. I'm sure they aren't that dark irl.

    jordy thanks man

lilnebo not if i kill you first! haha thanks

    Mr D Thanks man

Spirit Yeah those cat things were fun, and yeah, his clothes are very very baggy, tired of drawing stupidly tight clothing :/
    Thanks!

Coinpurse Haha not any day soon:/ Thanks man

Jake Never get tired of the pats! Haha not the scanner, was messing around with pencils in photoshop trying to find a way of removing paper texture, Think it was just my crappy pads, ordered 2 moleskins with some of my earnings, can't wait.

Well this piece has had a very very rough relationship with me. I have gone through many stages of hate with it. Its the kind of thing I would have given up on but since it was commisioned I couldn't. Someone wanted some metal gear solid fanart for there room, Partial nudity, was kinda fun, painted straight into colour, though the whole time I felt slightly sad for doing it haha:p.

Anyways thanks to all of you who reply, much appriciated!

Dude.... prrffffff.... that's not even partial nudity.
Don't freak on me for giving you a crit as I've been taking a lot of shit from people on other forums for it and I forget what the deallyo is over on CA.
First let me compliment you on your anatomy. It looks good. I think that the form doesn't come across well on the face. It looks very flat and there are a few issues with her right side of her face. I don't know what though. There just is...
Anyway, talk to you later. Der, I humpd da bump.

Jake Kobrin haha I'll never give you shit for a good crit:p. Yeah the faces values are too flat, all because I'm bad with painting into colour. I'm gonna try and do greyscale underpaintings to get the values down then colour overlay and paint on top of that.

    thesadpencil Thank you sir!

    lilnebo Haha:p

Harry_ thanks cuzz, tell me when you set up a sketchbook.

Well this isn't anything special, just some portrait for the roman girl a few pages back. If you are new here check back a page for better stuff

Oh and my moleskins came today so expect more studies and lifedrawings!

    Thanks all!

Edit: thanks for all the suggestions with this, just added some overlays to try and fix the skin tones, by no means greatly improved just though I might as well update it.

    Is that improved?

Moleskin! You're damn lucky. One day I'll get one, one day.

Liking the portrait, though her skin tones make her look a bit deadish... especially the deep shadows over and under her eyes. But i really like the nose. Very...nosey.
