    lilnebohaha sure thing

thesadpencil Yeah theres still a ton of issues with anatomy and stuff but the book I'm working through has a massive section on hands

Its Hogarths dynamic anatomy, its filled with tons of really awsome dynamic poses, worth getting, though he does have a slightly fu nny drawing style that some people don't like. Yeah I liked the pose on that guy too, thanks

    Ovad thanks man

Another character of the night thing, did this too late and the face really didn't scan well, still its not too bad and no reference. Messier than the other stuff though.

Your work in #672 is coincidently similar to one overpaint in Graig Mullin's tutorial. Though you might have some other idea bout it, I think it's still a worth read.
    Nice progress btw.

you are at a really good place for your age!
everything could use more practice, but your balance of studies and concepts seems to be working well for you!
    amazing commitment!
basically, keep going with everything you have been doing.

hey bro, keep on experimenting with those colours. Alot of your work seems to lose some depth because of lacking in warms and cools. Distinguish areas more!

    keep going

JFierce haha yeah got me a head start, thanks man

stonercurlythanks man, I should study more tbh

Coinpurse I'll try that out man thanks for the crits.

Thanks to all those slowly moving my rating back up. Wanna get it back up to 4 stars eventually.

Tonights thing, really trying to push myself to do more complicated scenes with focus on one character. Pretty pleased. Needs touching up but I'm too tired at the moment.

greyscale and quick slapped on colours.

Sadly, I kinda have to disagree with Korbin up there on one pointer (sorry Jake man, no pun intended)

Jake: One significant rule, eyes following the weapon really has nothing to do with anything. Eyes should always stay on the target, period. Which is what Miles had originally. Good job about mentioning the edges and pointing out the dramatic overuse of lighting. Also, be sure to compare the formation of the torso/legs to the head (keep in mind the skeletal structure)

Miles: Yeah, the saturations, tones, general knowledge of anatomy (all that stuff that was mentioned earlier) is important... but your biggest problem is still (like I mentioned before), experimentation. Starting with your colours...

Everything appears bland and dull. Almost like your using different values of the same hue, which is probably the case. Don't forget about applying the rules of warms and cools into your foreground/background. What applies to your background, should somehow relate to whats going on in your foreground. Don't be afraid to throw some different hues into those olives.
I Gotta agree with Korbin 100% about your edges! Elwell has a link in his sig that helps a bunch. Rules basically as follows (Taken directly from the link)

"Harder in the light, softer in the shadow
Harder in bright light, softer in dim light
Harder in focused light, softer in diffused light
Harder in the foreground, softer in the background
Harder on smooth forms, softer on textured forms
Harder on hard forms, softer on soft forms (Duh, but really)
Harder on flat forms, softer on rounded forms
Harder on thin forms, softer on thick forms
Harder on still forms, softer on forms in motion (on moving forms they are harder on the leading edge and softer on the trailing edge)
Harder at the center of interest, softer as you move away"

    Keep it up kiddo!
    ~mick

    DARAFThanks

Clodioz Yeah I was really pleased with em, thanks.

lilnebo Yeah I've been busy and its eaten into my drawing time, don't have any time today either. I'm going down to the coast an climbing this mountain thing, actually I might just bring a small A5 pad and do some environment stuff.

Jake Kobrin post1. haha thanks post 2. Whoa cheers for the paintover, really helpful, especially the stuff on the head and face, reminds me I need to practice head anatomy and stuff, yours looks so much more 3D, mine are too flat. post 3. Yeah I intended it to look more like he was hitting him with the other end in a jabbing like motion so it would fit where the character is. Thanks man for the helpful crit I learnt quite a bit from it.

Coinpurse post 1. Yeah those colours are awful, no more than 3 minutes spent on them just out of curiosity. I might not do overlays next time. The edges stuff is really useful I'll try to memorise them. Thanks man post 2. haha lol.

Wow really guys thanks for all the detailed and really helpful crits, its posts like these that really help me to learn new things, it also pushed me to do some studies, here are a couple of the better ones.
