I love your pencil skills and your progression from 'page one' is just so damn amazing, well done! Much respect to you. Thanks for kicking me in the ass

That last piece is absolutely killer.
I love how your edges are always crispy sharp but the surfaces really smooth. Sometimes a bit too smooth for my taste but it's kinda part of your style.
Do you erase at all when you're working in your sketchbook? I see no scribbles around the edges or anywhere really

I like the colour effect in the "dream record" pic
I think the contrast in colourfulness and clean vs. dirty could be even stronger
but it's only a sketch up to now so I'll wait for the finished piece

Hey! I'll update with sketches again soon, for now..
I was thinking about how creepy it would be if in the future, people start neglecting their real bodies to exclusively live in downloaded indistinguishably real simulations. There would be all kinds of interesting philosophical debates to have, and loads of conflicting opinions on the technology. It's an idea I might explore more, especially if people dig it.

Wow! What ever it is your taking Miles, I want some!
Love the latest painting!

that one turned out great man. That topic's something ive seen before but not one thats been explored in much depth. it would be pretty cool if you turned this one into a series, maybe focusing on that guy and his addiction. that could open up a lot of interesting scenarios, like him walking lookin all depressed through a crowded futuristic real-world street.
looking forward to see what you do with this.

Holy shit, that last piece absolutely blew my mind. Sooo beautiful!

Kids shooting WoW straight in the vein: We all know it's coming but are powerless to stop it
crazy great technique. The addicted kid is far more interesting than the lovers though and you've sort of put him out of focus.
Did you ever see that Surrogates movie by the way? Basically the same subject matter only that the deteriorating body part of it is not explored in any great length. Would be interesting if someone would make a story more in line with Requiem for a dream, but about digital addiction.
Anyways, hope you explore this further!

That latest piece is just great Miles, the concept is really tragic and interesting and the technique is lovely.

I absolutely adore the latest painting.
The chromatic aberrations and weird colors give a sort of dreamlike quality.
Concerning the topic: Right now I'm still only getting a perfect dream-vibe from it rather than indistinguishably real simulation.
Remember when they said that in the first few Matrix version everything was perfect and humans rejected it?
Right now it looks like there's no way the dude on the right doesn't know that it's just a simulation. If you want to explore the topic further you could try to make the simulation look like it's very real for the people who experience it.
Would people try to lead crazy exciting lives/be a celebrity in these simulations or maybe try to lead a perfect nuclear family life?
Food for thought, indeed.

Hey guys! Thanks for the feedback on that last painting, it was so uplifting to see that people were digging the idea and had so many interesting things to say about it!
I just got my new assignments in for the next couple of months with wizards, so apart from updating you with the last two pieces I did for them when they are released (any day now), I'm gonna be disappearing for a while. Not too long though, and the latter half of this year should be crammed with school work! Lots of exciting things to come
Here are some close to full size detail shots if anyone is curious
Now I hate to be that guy, but I'm gonna be that guy :p, I am selling prints of that pic if that sounds like something that might interest you, no pressure.
Some studies, I have literally piles of the gestures lying around. Do 30 second gestures! DO IT!
Some things from imagination, probably won't find the time to finish these.
aaand thats it for now! cheers
