Jake Kobrin Jake I don't think anyone got to your sketchbook through a link in my signature people ignore the most of the time. Without being mean, the main reason you don't get many replies is you don't update very often. I go to your book and see you saying thins like its been 5 days why hasn't anyone replied. You aren't meant to wait for replies before posting more art. For example I updated 3 times yesterday. I don't want to be mean and I'm sorry about taking you out but I had run out of room and I thought I should prioritise the people I know better. Anyway don't let stupid things like this slow you down or dishearten you keep up the art and I went on your websie and the airbrush stuff was stunning for your age. I'm sure you could post that in your sketchbook if you spend more time doing that than sketching. Its still art.

Mr Delicious Yer I wanted it to look like he had been running along, tripped up as he was shot sho his torso was leaning back but his legs were stuck behind but because I didnt add any floor in it looks like hes jumping into it.

    Grandmassa Mr.Spect Thanks.

thanks its niceto know other people see progress

Anyway so its not a post without art heres some sketch.

Reject-DThanks. I think the legs were a little off personally, perspective wise. Oh and lol call me miles, spaz sounds a little odd.

Mr Delicious A hundred, I honestl don't have the time. Anyway, I would if I could, the problem is I always start off doing them as quick things but usually if I like them I expand them into full blown things like this one.

I haven't done any "public" art this month because I've been spending all of my time working on the hundredth COW. Thanks for the props on my airbrushing. I'm painting my friends ski helmet next month so I'll get some shots of that once it's done.

Mr Delicious I do have a life lol. Where do you get your anatomy from?

Jake Kobrin Good to here man I'm looking forward to the COW thing.

I know its not a study (sorry MR D) but I'm going on a night hike tonight lol so there was a lot to do. Quick, probably not very useful Black and White. My excuse is that I was learning how to use more detail in these things.

Mr D lol I didnt mean it like that I actually have all this stuff on and I have my GCSE's and my friends always want attention so basically I couldn't draw constantly but on weekdays I basically spend all my free time drawing.

K last night I found some time to do a self portrait from a photo and a really bad sketch.

    destinyapocalypse thanks man

Reject-D Yer faces are a big thing ive been working on.

K heres some stuff. The first pastel from life looks much better in person. The scaner fuxed the colours but whatca gonna do. Its not meant tobe so red but more a subtle green/brown for the background colour. The second is just some rubbish I did watching Pulp Fiction last night. Damn thats a good movie.

um looked at it and decided to smooth it out now that I had the colours down. Did it this way to avoid having a washed out look. Pretty pleased with this.

    hey,
you rendering is getting better, try using some more colour to the face, to be honest he looks a little dead.
    nice as always.

Yer skin tones are something I want to work on, along with the rest of colour theory.

Anyway heres a bad pencil from last night. Line qaulity is awful and the knees are too low down I think.

Hey man. I like your black and white tablet sketches that look like silhouettes with the light carved out of them. I like approaching my figures like that because it gives you a good idea of how to deal with whatever lighting patterns you want to define the form with.

I'd say that you should start trying to go to life drawing sessions and really try to learn the human anatomy and design. Try to learn it so that parts you are confused about aren't a mystery anymore. It will also help your proportions too. And perhaps you could eye drop colours from some of your favourite artists to learn how to deal with skin tone and what not.

Garret Hanna Yer see the problem with life drawig classes is that I'm only 14 and I'm not sure if classes would let me in. Yer Eyedropping skin tones isn't a bad idea.

Arrggh I did tons of painting last night but it only got me really angry because I had set myself these ridicolously high expectations. I wanted to try doing an environment and I rushed too much and my colour pallette is awful and I was getting annoyed at photoshop cos it took me ages to work out how to customise the brushs properly. So rather than just getting annoyed I just dd some pencil stuff at around 11pm. Anyone know any good environment tutorials?
