Mr D Yer well I have photoshop elements which is stupid and even if u set hardness to full becuase of the anti-aliasing that it has on the brush small brushed appear practically all grey. Anyway I don't think it looks too bad. More studies now I just felt like doing quick fun things tonight. Its okay.

not so sure on this one.

I can't afford it. Its lkike several hundred isnt it. I'll get it when I'm older lol. Elements works pretty well. It hasn't got that many features taken out. Anyway I tweaked the last one because some bits were annoying me.

NIce work on the "mr D" style b&w pics, they are pretty slick, just keep an eye on your facial proportions on them

Jedininjaman Yer facial proportions is exactly whats screwed up with this next one. Makes him one ugly son of a bitch.

Here is some stuff. Rubbish really. I'll do some more digital tonight then I might have something worthwhile to update with. Sometimes I have some motivation problems with my drawings where I just feel that its all rubbish and I've been havin that past two days so yeah its not very good.

Ugggh this is really bad. Look back a page for better stuff.

    Nice SB! Some definite improvement.
When drawing these out, don't forget the form and 3d aspect of your figures and portraits. Certain parts of the body follow certain structural lines, especially in the face. This will help keep your head from being so long also. Just spend a bit more time in the beginning phases.
    Keep posting!!

Man I'm pissed with my pencils today lol. I want to be good with my pencils but sometimes I just get a bit frustrated. I don't wanna be a completely digital artist but I just find digital so much more fun.

Mr D My eyes arent but this next dudes are. Yer it looked funny in those pencils but sometimes it can look quite cool as an artistic touch. (god I feel stupid saying that.)

    Digi.

God these B & W are fun but I know they arent particularly good for my improvement.

Hey man, great job so far. I can see that in a lot of your drawings you're kind of 'petting in' the lines. To make really impressive work, a confident line is a must, try doing some contour drawings, and make lines one line and not several. Also try doing some pen and ink drawings, they force you to use confident strokes or it ends up looking scratchy and terrible

A penny for your thoughts =P

ChaoticKnight Thanks fo' the advice man. I need to work on my faces. A bad face can spoil a picture.

Grandmassa Mr.Spect Cheers man it means a lot.

Jake Kobrin I don't really want painter plus that offer probably only applies in the US. Thanks anyway man but I think I'm going to 'aquire' photoshop through my own methods

Anyways I'll do some pencils later but first I decided to mess around with that 'badass' guy. Stupid digital has made me impatient with my pencils lol. I need to get a better attention span.

On your work, I noticed that its all layed out, outlined and ready to go, but seems unfinished to me. Add more value and contrast in order to create a sense of depth and 3-dimensionality. It just seemed too much of the same value was applied..and some of them were too dark with no hightlights, others were too light with no shadows and form. Work on that to really make the object pop out of the page and add realism. Hope that helps! Keep it up

Jedininjaman Yer I need to get some 2B leads like I said. I actually can't really get much darker tones with the leads I've got.

Sorry post with no art I figured it was close enough to the one with art to be acceptable lol.

I think thats the main source of your problem right there. You DEFINITELY need B's. I suggest getting a pencil set with 2,4,6,& 8 B's. You might also want to play round with some charcoal or graphite sticks to really get in those dark dark tones. That last work looked alot better, but I can certainly understand the H's not being dark enough. Time to make an investment!

Mr Delicious thanks yer I'm fine now lol. Made a good doodel though

D@niel Cheers man I'll take that as a biig compliment. I still need to work on them. Darker tones!

KK I did some more life drawing for my GCSE and my mum showed me her secret stash of art equipment with some cool 7B pencils and woodless pencils. Worked well on the life drawing, not so well on the thing from my head. Not very pleased with it.
