Does the animal have a name? Because I love the design, even if I could see him (because is a he, right?) falling from his horns weight.
The second one, the man writting a letter, I don't know why there's something...that doesn't work in there. First of all, is morning or evening? Sunset? Or sunrise? I can't really tell what time of the day is it, because there's not much light, but the sky looks like morning, almost midday, and cloudy.
Also, love the mountains, and the forest black silhouette, but there's something that lack in the forest right in front of the black part. It's like it needs a bit more of detail. Is it finished?

Because if it's not finished then I'll shut my mouth and say nothing more.

    Sketchbook

I don't have time to read "How beautiful are your drawings!" garbage.

I see a lot of progress since I last popped in here. I'm loving the creature in the last post. Keep up the good work!

Zilkenian - thanks for the comments - yes it is finished, but its never really finished, is it?
ML_Alcazar - nice to see you commenting here - thanks!

Here are some updates of late - Last month I resigned from my job of 12 years and from July, I will be working for myself as a freelance illustrator and comic artist. I am very excited about it.
So here are some comic inks on Bristol board that I have been doing - I am very happy to have moved back to traditional drawing for as much of my art as possible.

I lost the original digital illustration of my character in the bar, so I redid her traditionally on Bristol board.

My first comic, Gofu, was launched at Open Book Comics Fest 2013 and it was a great success!
It was an awesome comics show that was part of the Open Book Festival in Cape Town and it was humbling to meet so many amazing artists and just all round nice people!

Gofu did very well at Open Book Comics Fest 2013, and I am very happy about that! To everyone who came and supported and bought Gofu - a big thank you! You guys made all the effort worth while.

I am back home now and I am selling my comic, Gofu and a few other goodies in my online shop - jumpsuitart.bigcartel.com/ - international shipping available.
Just click the "Jumpsuit Shop" button above and it will take you right there.
For South African customers who don't use Paypal, you are welcome to contact me directly (deon(at)jumpsuitart(dot)com) to make a purchase via EFT.

Alternatively Gofu is also for sale from Readers Den Comic Shop in Claremont and Blank Books in Woodstock for those of you who are in Cape Town but could not make it to Open Book Comics Fest!

The SA comics community is growing, and support is growing too. I was amazed at the diversity of the content, styles and themes on display from the various SA comic artists.

I cant wait to get going on my next comic!

You have some really cool stuff here Deon, it's awesome being able to see your progress from several years ago to now. Your linework is very strong, I love the stegosaur!
