Here's mine. I went for a sort of zombie barbarian valkyrie heh.
It initially was in colour, but when I set it to grayscale for a value check, I liked the B/W much better.

hmm isn't there an attachment option when you edit your post?...I hope photobucket won't delete this

    Chow #71: Wip

    Okay, here's my initial sketch.

The idea is that she is "fallen" in the sense that she has too much compassion for the mortals she is supposed to judge impartially.

I hope to include a lot of "wing" details in the armor in the finished piece, as well as really work on her expression (she's supposed to be singing a lament.) Since I had been doing wolf and moon studies for last weeks CHOW, I decided to include her mount, a white wolf. Carrion birds fly in the distance.

    ---

Started painting tonight. Here's a detail of the face:

Okay, this is as final as I'm going to get for now. Wish I had more time to really work it. SIGH. Gotta learn to work faster, but this is my first CHOW, my first finished digital painting and my first time working with the Intuos tablet and damn it I was gonna get something done!

joe12south i like your concept alot, but i think your composition is a little confusing in the sense that all 3 figures have even exposure. Im no pro (yet hehe) but i know you ought to give your hero the most exposure. How you do that is up to you but if you take it on board to re arrange your composition (move the characters around, enlarge some, change camera angle) it will make this cool concept way stronger.

    Sho-nuff,
Good call. I think I'm going to keep the composition the same, but I'll definitely attempt to use color and lighting (and details) to bring the focus on the main character. The wolf will be white, so he'll blend with the background, and the dead guy will be, well, dead and in a white sheet, so he'll be real pale as well.

As for the jumping pig, copy the link and open it in a new tab.
This way it won't detect you came from ConceptArt.org and the hotlinking protection won't come into effect.

    Mincepockets,
I like the Norse look to the costume. Obviously the proportions are a bit wonky at this point. What's the significance of the hand pose?

    Gids,
What's the black shape behind her, beneath her hair? Other than the insane breasts ;-) that's the only thing that really struck me as awkward.

Joe, thats the beginnings of a shield. Not sure if I'm going to keep it in or change the shape...breasts are important.

I'll try and do something a bit more finished this time. Initial blobs... I normally sketch something out in line, so I don't really know what the hell I'm doing with this! Pose crap... must sort it... She looks like Asterix!

    WIP 2.

I decided to put a bit more movement in it, and changed the sword to a spear. Not necessarily a good idea! She looks like she's scaring the crows away at the moment! Still got a bit to do...

Thanks for the crit Sve, Jakkas, Cakeypigdog, Graphuji, Bumskee, et al! Gotta say, so far my fav is Lukavi's: fantastic design! And Maxetormer, ours are very similar in idea, but yours is a much better composition.

Final version, although I think I'll come back to it some other time; there's a lot I should tweak, but I don't have the time today. Bleh...

The crows were at it again. Their constant cawing and squaking drove Modrigan beyond reason, their black empty eyes mocking her. So once more she chased them off, and once more she cursed Odin for her banishment; and like some Norse Don Quixote, forever chasing demons of the mind, she lost herself in hate.

Actually I liked very much, Aly... I never would have guessed it is yours, despite that girl is cute already... nevertheless it is something very unexpected from you and much, much freer and bold, unrestricted and unpredictable... It could go in so many directions, feels like a balancing walking on the rope in the open air, isn't it? I feel excited looking at it .I know you love these things in other people work... I assuming you want this for yourself as well...Colors are wonderful and lighting is already there... pose is interesting, it is only not clear what she sees there... she is cautious though and not confident... probably hint that she is on her own now and an outcast... Stormy picture, very not calm... I like it.
