Cassandra's Sketches UPDATE 3/7/2010!
TONS of time has passed since my last update. I am now a sophomore at The Savannah College of Art and Design. I work for Base14 doing concept art and environment art for animated films. I also draw storyboards for both animated and live action films, most of which are senior projects. I am loving life and decided to update this old, old, old thread.
I have a new site as well, nulynne.blogspot.com
Please see the later posts for more work.
The later pages will have more recent stuff, naturally.
I hope I can meet the standards here- the artists are pretty incredible. I'm not a proffessional (like a lot of you are here XD), in fact, I'm still a few years away from college, but if anyone has any CC then that would be great~ thanks
these are at least a month old. I'll have some newer stuff soon.

just bought a new sketchbook on saturday this is what I've done so far. a few of them have references, but most do not. @.@ (that is definitely my own hand in the last one XD...i got sorta bored at starbucks XP)
and ipod man again, um, I used him for a little color experiment of mine. acrylic gel gloss to seal the sketch, then acrylics over it. (the paper wasn't good enough for it, so i think I have a bit more experimenting to do)
oh, and the childish words everywhere? there just little ideas for APart next year. we need to choose an overal "theme" for our portfolios, so i was just brainstorming.

You've got a nice start to things here. Nice work.

Some really great stuff! I like your color choices on the first page of paintings. Some proportional/anatomy issues make some of these not as strong as they could be, but over all very nicely done, well rendered.

hey, don't downplay your abilities here, you're doing very well and I imagine that in not too long a time you will be able to hold your own amongst the professionals here.
might I suggest a couple of small things? Do more anatomy studies. You seem to have a good grasp of anatomy but here and there I think there are some mistakes. Mainly faces. Also, practice some foreshortening, it's a hard thing to master.
PLease don't think I'm trying to knock you down, in fact, I like what you've got here very much, just trying to point out stuff you may not have noticed.

very confident drawing and painting skills. lots of talent at such a young age, your way ahead, all the more reason to get even further ahead.
oaky enough ass patting haha, as far as facial anatomy goes check out kevin chen's notes on www.characterdesigns.com he breaks head construction down really well.
I like your color choices, you kinda got that washed out water color/tetsuya nomura thing going on.

Such a young soul with such a great talent!... Very nice stuff. So feminine also.
Why don't you consider taking part in activity of the week -random topic of the week? We need people participating and I think you'd fit right in!

thanks everyone for all of the comments and the CC. I totally agree with all of the advice that was given- especially concerning the symmetry of the face (as I've always had a bit of trouble with that). The links given were very helpful thank you
and thanks of course for the lovely comments
