Thread: Freximus draws
May 5th, 2007 #1
I'm a practicing Industrial designer and I've found that both my skills and love for drawing have atrophied. So I've decided to use this forum to log my progress.
I can't wait to get better!

I've been working through Hogarth now for a week or so. Hopefully my anatomy and proportion will start to come back online. Also a quick one of my wife sleeping.

good stuff here. the first pic and the one of your wife sleeping are my faves. it maybe the scans, but your line work seems really light. good studies though, and a good choice with Hogarth, he kicks ass.

Hey Guys, another update here. I collaged the images together so the post doesn't get ridiculously long.
Whitevillage: Thanks man, I checked out your stuff... great studies! Your eye for detail is rocking, and your character studies are showing great creativity.
Maxetormer: Thanks for the encouragement: I think your artwork is just top-notch... Your sketches show awesome ability with light and shadow. Every sketch is interesting!

More stuff to come soon. got the bug again after a couple months of excuse making.
Going to be concentrating on anatomy as I move forward. Been pulling my references from Bridgman.

Couple more.. Drawings of my two dogs.. from photo refs.
My light-colored dog, Ava has this funny quirk of biting her lip... I tried to capture that in the image.. also she really does have crossed eyes. She's about the cutest most happy-go-lucky dog you'd ever meet. The dark dog is Gravy. The stalwart protector of the family.. and a little bit of a grump.
