Updated! Lord of the Rings Online/personal Concept Art-Jeff Murchie - scroll down

Here are a few pieces I have concepted for Lord of the Rings Online. I have not really posted on Conceptart.org and thought maybe it is about time. I hope you like what you see! I try to make my ideas feel as if they could actually exist in our world and I love painting in the textures of materials that bring out the personality in each character. I have a lot more to show and I will try to post here and in my blog frequently! You can view my new Blog at:

    Hey Jeff,
Good to see these posted! The dragon feels a bit unloved compared to the rest of the bunch, but always look forward to seeing your work.

Hurray! Jeff has finally come out of hiding! (Now if only I got see more of Sean and Todd's stuff)

Wonderful art. You have the coolest details and a very sharp rendering style, as well as a great sense of personality to everything. I wish one of these companies would have you do a scene painting of something, cause I wanna know what that'd look like from you. Please do me one favor, though: fix the cut pixels or anti-aliasing or whatever under his left foot. Out of all that stuff, that's the one thing bothering me. 5 seconds and you're done.

Again, rockin' designs. ALMOST as rockin' as the comic con if you come and hang with us. PLEASE Jeff, don't deprive us!

Oh, and super congrats on getting into Spectrum this year!

Nice designs! Especially those semi-skeletal ones. I've never seen anyone take Lord of the Rings designs from that angle. Too often LotR art is just the standard swords and sorcery cliches. +5 for creativity.

It must be really hard to work on such a topic and NOT to copy Peter Jackson's characters.
How did you solve this problem?
    Best regards,
