SOI Annual Student Show, Friday @ 5:30 NYC

Hey guys, I didn't see anyone post this, but the Society of Illustrators Annual Student show is this Friday at 5:30. We had four people get in from Virginia Commonwealth University this year:

Chris White (getting 2 pieces in, Winning the Illustration Academy scholarship and the cover of this year's annual)
    http://www.chriswhiteillustration.com/

Chris Johnson (getting 2 pieces in)
    http://www.freewebs.com/mrvisions

    Amy Roberts (First time entering)

    Stanley Rayfield
    (only a sophomore)

There were about 4,000 entries from across the United States, with only 119 being selected. We'll be heading up on Friday from Virginia (Paparazzi and Ken Deathwalker are coming, too ) . The show is anticipated to be a good one, so hopefully you guys can come out.

Congrats to all who got in and see you in the Apple!

I saw the boys and girls at the SoI putting this baby up Yesterday and I have to say, this is one damn good looking show. Puts a lot of the professional work from the last two openings to shame.

Icon - Thanks, I'm sorry things didn't work out for you and your school. You definitely have skill, I'm sure I would have seen a piece or two in there otherwise -

hito - Thanks dude. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet on the "Syd Show", but I'll be sending stuff your way soon -

timpaatkins - that sounds awesome dude. Can't wait to meet you in person! -

AmishCommy - Nice!!! That puts a smile on my face, I can't wait. I hope to see you there -

Great meeting you guys, and seeing the pieces up close was great! Really good show, I had a great time getting a closer look when all the money was dished out upstairs. Good food too!

Sorry I didn't say ssomething sooner, as soon as I got back, I had exam stuff to work on. Man, it was amazing meeting and re-meeting everyone. I had a wonderful time, and the show was not only amazing, but humbling as well. Congrads to all who won and/or got in the show, and thanks to all who came out and supported such an event. Tim, man, your an awesome dude. Keep me posted on your paintings. Irene, for the brief time I saw you it was fun, it looked like you were having a sweet time. Dan, if you read this, I missed you man, I hope you and your family are doing well! Ami, great to see you again man, hope everything is still going well and that you take care.

Until next time we meet, keep rockin' the boards.

Edit: By the way, i noticed one of my pieces got on the front page of the Society site. I am honored indeed -
