    > Kian's Anti-56K Dump <

Hi everyone. Its been a while since I posted. Been tooo busy with Uni work. But I've got the nod to post some work I've done for Red Mist Castle. They're all fantasy based, which isn't exactly my top genre, but its all about variety

    Hope you like

Once again congrats on the new postition.

Nice work here, my favs are 1, 5 and 6. The atmosphere on them is excellent. I think that you are stuggling with some perspective issues on a couple of the images especially 8 and 9. On both the right sides of the buildings have been brought up to far to fit into the 3 point perspective.
Sorry I can't describe it better.

Nice work, good to see youve been keeping busy.

    some great stuff!

the one im having some problems with is that blue image near the bottom... with all the stuff glowing, i cant really make out the shapes, i cant tell what the material is on some of the objects either, it just confuses me.

    Joooooooooon!

Niiiice stuff, man. I like 2, 6, 8, 9 and 11. 2 is stunning and the composition in both 8 and 9 make them look really cool, hehe. 6, 9 and 11 look epic. Really like the use of texture throughout and the sense of depth portrayed.

I think some of the buildings/monuments like in piece 3 could do with more detail or be more elaborate. Stuff in Fantasy tends to be a bit OTT, afterall, but if this isn't what the client wanted then coo'...

    Nice to see ya around

Seriously nice atmosphere - I saved them all to have as inspiration, the day when I decide to practise my enviro skills... those none-existant ones. Thanks for showing!

Very cool enviros dude, I absolutely love that there is a prevalent mood in all of them, like each can belong to it own movie. Think some of them might do well with some figures/characters. It give a better sense of scales and can bring more life/energy into the environment.

Great work, have some stars dude.

the paints are beautiful with great colours and compositions.
a minor crit - i think in this one the piers work against you in suggesting depth. i'd put them a bit closer together as they get farther away from us..

the atmosphere is really strong in all of these - love the one with the rain in it.

Like them all but som some feel abit cropped, Like this one, http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/3205/qendlb0.jpg it's good but it would work even better for me if I saw more of the 'plates' to the left and right.

Beautiful work. 3, 5 and 7 are my favorites. Great atmosphere and on #5, I love the forced entrance into the main gate. Awesome way to funnel enemies into a kill zone.

    nice work man !
Great job on the atmospheric effects !
maybe sometimes u could add some extra details (like shields , chain , broken swords etc etc ) to bring some life in the picture.

    Keep it up !

    Hey buddy,

I see how our common efforts in "Post your environment" thread turn out to be a good playground for the "real" stuff. I also learned a lot just by posting there too.
This is all so great and the fifth from above is just thrilling.
    Stars, stars...
