DSG 1236: Creature: HUGE, NATURALLY ARMORED, SEGMENTED WORMS GRAZE THE ALIEN PLAINS

    [ These are surface-dwelling animals. ]

[ Because they are large and slow-moving, they have evolved a sort of tough, armored, outer-skin or husk to discourage predators. ]

[ It's also possible, though not necessary, that some of them might have horn-like protrusions that allow for further defensive abilities. ]

[ Now, if you're feeling really ambitious and wanna toss an alien (or space-suited human) worm-herder type into the scene... ]

    [ ...Well, I reckon that'd be just fine. ]

I may do another one, since this one doesn't exactly fit the "grazing the alien plains" bit of the description.

I just felt like messing around with brushes and color alterations hehe

I love this theme. I took about 15-20 minutes to sketch out a scene I was happy with a and then happily doodled away for two hours just having fun. I ended up desaturating the piece and doing some value experiments.

Here´s my take, The Éla´Hariin, known as Lords of the Circle by the Il´Karii... (in short: a thingy i´m gonna use in a comic of mine)

Southern, that is really inspiring! Kinda like a kick in the pants.

I liked this one so I kinda went with it for a while. The idea is that they are very, very slow lawnmowers..

I like Southern's and silentbrain's pieces. Worms give me the willies, and seeing several of them in on place is even worse for me, so I guess that influenced this one.

    oh well..

about 25 minute sketch, nothing too detailed or refined.

Nice topic. "Dune" kept springing to mind but I tried to avoid it.
