    Setting up technical drawings

I am doing some mechanical concept work for a video game design. I am having trouble getting me perspective set up for a good detailed mechanical drawing like the ones I see on this site. I realize that these results are the product of much practice, but any help getting on the road to that destination would be highly appreciated. Thanks

    good question,

    Hello,

The way I set up for a tight perspective drawing is to start loose. First I do a quick sketch ( the same size I want to do my final) of what I want and how I want to show it. Then I use it as an underlay for my perspective. This is done by following the lines on the existing sketch (the loose underlay) to there respective vanishing points. Once I have established the vanishing points I get two (sometimes three) tacs and nail the little rat bastards into my drafting board at the vanishing points. This is so I can find my vanishing point by feel. Then from there I do the perspective thing with my sweeps and templates. I hope this help.

Oh, make sure t swear often.

    Thanks a lot! ^_^
I will try it out and post my results. The swearing thing I think I have down though.
