Hey there! i really dig your stuff. Your mark making is delicious! The comic was really fun (thanks for the translation, BTW). Also, the Nihilist video game idea is brilliant. I had one of those "Damn! I wish I'd thought of that!" moments while reading it. Too often, art can become rather stoic and stodgy. I always appreciate it when someone breathes joy and a genuine sense of humor into art, which you seem to do regularly. Can't wait to see more...

"Contrary to the belief of the layman, the essential of art is not to imitate nature, but under the guise of imitation to stir up excitement with pure plastic elements: measurements, directions, ornaments, lights, values, colors, substances, divided and organized according to the injunctions of natural laws. While so occupied, the artist never ceases to be subservient to nature, but instead of imitating the incidents in a paltry way, he imitates the laws."-Andre Lhote

Your pencil sketches are just amazing and one thing that i really like about yours sketchbook pages is that even thou there are just many random things on paper the page works as one drawing with composition.
Post in here as much as you can because you are inspiration to many.

Thanks a bunch of lots guys!

I drew a couple of stuffs! Check them out! They're kinda cool!
I'll try and get to the scanner in school to maybe scan in some pages from the sketchbook as well. These two are done in open canvas with a friend of mine, his name is Jüri! He did the line drawings I coloured a page back. He's the one that isn't totally ripping off DanielC's style.

Doodling with Renton from tigsource forums (I'm on the left), then two Alchemy doodles and then a doodle that is in fact not from alchemy.
This has been a thematic post.

Mockup for a game about NIHILISM.
The kind that had teenagers throw dynamite at the Czars carriage. And some even succeeded. Lenins big bro was a nihilist!
    Attachment 841048

I have some vague ideas for this. At first I figured it would control like a platformer but from the mockup it looks that maybe point & click would work better.
There should be some heavy introspection going on and I want to differentiate the real from thoughts. The collage style from photos would represent the reality of life and the painted parts would be the psychological, these two would blend and mix as thoughts are thought and sanity slips.
The main character is always painted for there is no way to escape the constraints of the self as idealists would have it (maybe only when looking in the mirror). Oh the irony that our brave nihilist would be a Marxist and believe in finding absolute truths through dialectics! In search of this objective truth of himself he only deludes himself deeper and deeper into the realm of the mind, further away from the materialist categories he would hold so dear!
    He also drinks alot.

There may or may not be a minigame about throwing dynamite under the Czars carriage.

and a few pages from my sketchbook which I scanned in in school since my scanner is still broken into millions of pieces.

Sgraffito! This here is some epic autoportraiture for a course I'm taking this semester called monumental painting. This is the sketch for it and I'll get a photo of the finished thing soon as well. I'm absolutely horrible at any kind of manual work so the laying in of plaster and nailing together the wood box and mixing colours in buckets was quite a terrible endeavor and took forever. Scraping out the layers though was quite enjoyable. Kind of a weird sensation to see the image not so much come together in layers of paint but slowly emerge. Not to mention the act of carving your face into what is essentially a slate of ROCK.

I'm finishing university this semester so I have to do my thesis whatnot for BA, I've got a couple of preliminary sketches. The first one is basically an anti-banksy or the clever bourgeois version of a banksy, in a gallery, on canvas with a ridiculous baroque frame (where am I going to get one of those? They're silly expensive )
The other one is going to be sort of a stream-of-counciousness thing. Expressive, muted colours, artist fucking around. The title should be "Us, his friends" (how very mysterious! I hear you say)

A couple of quick doodles to recover from painting fatigue. Peculiar isn't it.
