Welcome back man =) What you really should do with a new start is to try to focus 100% on the improvement.. start to draw more often etc. What i like to see you doing is to put some time and work on your fundamentals.. With strong fundamentals you cane make your art more advanced, right now, its pretty boring and simple and there is some kinda of "average" technical skill behind it.
As for the last one, try to push the values some.. you are working black and white, use black to push the contrast! =)

Keep it up.. even if those words might seem harsh to you I am still trying to help you know . And I am struggling with the same things myself.. Some stuff that really helps me when i read it is dirty c's three rules.. Free your mind ^^

    Keep it up Jamie!

I think going back to pencil would help you to develope some kind of bigger interest in your pictures.

jMarkus: thanks for stopping by my sb. I'm gonna agree with what Dile stated. These are good sketches, but i think you could really benefit from doing a pencil sketch. It almost seems like you're searching for what to paint, when you're actually painting. By starting with a loose sketch you lay down the idea so that when you start painting, all you have to worry about is color, form, etc. etc. But the idea is alreay there.

Keep going though. So far it's looking good.

I really don't get why you post 5 minute doodles.. whats the point behind it ? Its no real idea to give you crits, because after 5 minutes you haven't got anything down really.
The last one is nice, but it looks like you just used the curves adjustment thing over the black and white one, and nothing more.

Oh well, don't let me stop you from posting doodles.. I'm just saying that i find it pointless to post one 5 minute doodle every or every other day..

ok i know this is not an image post, i just wanted to ask what you all mean by going back to the basics... circles and cubes, or more life drawings and whatnot. and im workin digitally because i do not think at this point i can take my pencils to any further level... i am workin traditionally however, learning acrylics oils, and watercolor...

still i would like to know what u mean by goin back to the basics, im not gonna lie, i like ur crits, but it is distressing to think that i am going nowhere/ not progressing.

    thank you

Draw whats in front of you, grab an anatomy book, copy from it, try to understand it! Going back to basics would help you with a lot.. the fundamentals are important.. The better you get the fundamentals down, the easier you will have with going "advanced" with your art. As I said.. right now your stuff lack fundamentals, therefore its pretty boring. Studying the human figure and understanding it would give you a lot!
