I've been watching this thread for a while and thought I should add something.
Here is a watercolor landscape I did near a friend's house.

R.J.O., Your light and dark separation and overall structure are looking good. There are only two thing that I think you need to work on. I do not think that your hair is all so black without any light hitting the surface. I also think you should start playing with colors a little more, unless that was a monochromatic study like a closed grisaille.

    Here's a recent figure grisaille.

Zanpakatou- Thanks for the critique! Next time I paint I'll be sure to pay more attention to the other aspects of the subject matter. You deserve a hug!!!
I just spotted another major problem in it, my mouth seems to be looking straight on. It's as though it isn't apart of the face, gosh darn it!

    Red face

    Hi,
Somehow I can't see all the pictures, probably some formats I cannot see, but WOW. All those that I do get to see are just gorgeous. Really well done and inspiring, thank you very much.

Your still lifes are getting so good! There's a ton of improvement from page one to now and this isn't so much you as the paper, I love the texture of the paper with the brick. It has a rough, kind of similar feel to it as you'd find with rocks so I think it actually really suits it. Wow that sounded cheesy haha.

But yes, you're doing amazing and I can't wait to see more.

Retro and Timothy, those are super sweet.

Tried doing a plein air of a naval destroyer since it was fleet week in San Fran, lot o' fun. Also a long pose figure painting I'm working on.

Glad to see your work moonrage.

I would say that you need to work on your separation of light and dark. As a general rule you do not want to mix you light colors into the dark. It may look muddy.

Paintings from my Figure Drawing Group

First, I love seeing everyones work on this thread, I've followed it for some time, but never got around to posting anything myself. Very inspiring to see all the work from everyone. Here are some paintings from my figure drawing group that I go to every week. Mostly 3 hour poses, some are 20min and others are 40min. I've been painting mostly to get faster and to try and loosen up with my brushwork. Any feedback and criticism is welcomed.

40 min portrait oil on canvas 9x12

40 min Study Norfolk Drawing Group

3 hour pose, Oil on canvas.

Alexis Model 3hr Pose - Oil on Canvas

    40 min head study

Scotsman model with sword, 20 min pose, oil on board

Model: Anna, 40 Min Painting, Oil 8x10

    20 Min Pose

    Angel, 3hr pose

    40 min. Painting.

These are absolutely gorgeous, which medium are you painting in? And how did you go about making them? From here it looks like you used maybe only one or 2 layers of paint... your confidence in putting down that paint is admirable! I am so jealous.
