    doodles n stuff (updated)

hey, this is my first sketchbook. i'm a high school student, mostly self taught except for the usual high school art class. my stuff's probably not as great as most of yours but hopefully with some more practice and formal training i can get better.

(The first batch of stuff is from high school. i'm now in my second quarter at SCAD and i'll be posting stuff regularly.)

The first pic is old and the second one is fairly recent.

here's another older piece done in charcoal.

haha, thanks. yeah, i need to hone my overall technique, but in my defense these were rushed to meet deadlines. hahah, actually lately i've been having some growing pains so i've been rushing a lot of pieces, especially when i'm having difficulty getting started on certain concepts. but hopefully i'll get better when summer rolls around and the pressure lets off a little.

Welcome, not a bad start, maybe try drawing a few from life as well as photos, it'll help with how you see things. Keep them coming though, its the best way for people to get to know you.

Bojee: thanks. i'm doing both actually. but because of the deadlines and short time frame i don't always have time to draw from life. it's hard getting your classmates to stay still, hahaha. hopefully i'll get better this summer and when i start classes at SCAD next year.

You're doing well! Are these from photographs? If so, let's see some drawings from life, too. And don't be afraid of posting quick sketches. Keep going!

I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

the only from life drawings i really have are all 30 second gestures. i don't get a chance to draw from life.
