    Hi Henning.

You have improved immensly over the last year. Very impressive.

Please take the time to give me some constructive criticism in my Sketchbook

Hey man, thanks for posting up those photos, very cool. If you don't mind, could you give me a quick run through of your process? I've never done in photo manipulation, I'm kinda curious how it's done.

    Also, I'm loving those monkeys.

Even though this one is quite the speedy, I'm quite pleased with the final outcome. When I draw I don't have any sense of time, and it's therefore hard to give an estimation on how long I spent, but I guess approximately 2-3 hours is a fair number

I'm experimenting with several shading techniques at the moment. I think I'm getting the hang on blending using a tissue. Does anybody have some tips on the blending part?

Hey man, very nice hands. Inspires me to work a bit more on my hands and not do so many quick sketches.

As for your question about tissue blending, I've never really been a fan of the look produced so I've never tried much with it. However, you seem to have a pretty good grasp of it. You've done a good job of not making it look smudgy while getting a nice smooth quality.

As for the rest of it, everything seems to be in good order, except I don't like that really dark shadow between the pinkie and ring finger. I think it may be just a touch too sudden. The rest of the shading in the piece is really smooth and gradual, but that's really sudden. Maybe just try to lighten in up a bit, or blend it a bit more. I dunno, just my two cents.

    thank you Davio : )

And thanks for the critique Swampdigger. I really appreciate constructive critics : )

And now, for some new work.

Yay! More 3d. I'm learning XSI at the moment, thus the lack of doodles lately

The lion and the female torso are WIP. The woman is pretty much finished.

This was going to be a speedy, but I decided to finish it.
    After 40 minutes

And of course, some doodles I've been trying to draw from life, instead of just reproducing photos. I drew a dvd cover, Christmas decoration, a toy car and so ion.

Oh, i almost forgot! I made this timelapse =)

The female in post 98 looks almost photographic because of the depth. Your latest drawings looks nice too. Especially the fist one. It would be nice though, to see some that have been a bit more rendered out.

I've done loads of anatomy studies lately. Unfortunately, I cannot transfer the doodles from my camera to my pc due to a missing cable, so I'll just post my latest digital sketches. I'll try hard to find a way to post my traditional doodles though.

The painted torso is a study of myself... I know you're not supposed to put halfnaked pictures of yourself on the net, but hey! this is a drawing. Makes all the difference in the world

My latest digital work is mainly 3d as you might observe =p

hmm... I have to paint more, even though I enjoy 3d alot.. Cant only focus on one genre The screaming orc/creature has proper topology and a propper UV-map. The other is just made from a sphere. Im trying to learn rendering in XSI, but it isnt easy!

And some more rendered drawings... They're still WIPs though. I'm trying to render realistic, but I have a looong way to go. But hey, I'm improving right? :p

Same old crappy camera... I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

It's been a month or so since I touched Zbrush last time, so I thought I might give it another shot.. A part of 1,5 hours of work can be seen below. I hid the rest of the bust as the face is the most vital part atm

Edit: yes, i like monkeys.... Alot!

Well.. I havent updated my sketchbook in almost half a year. sooo.. I think i'll upload some new drawings. During the last half year I think I've improved a lot, and I feel way more confident while drawing than I used to. On Monday, im beginning a course on the subject of portraits. I hope this will give me new insights

    Hey Guilemo !

It's been a while since I took a look at your work. I think your getting some nice 3d stufff like the Gorilla. Some nice detailed observation.

You are starting to capture likeness in those portrait studies.

    Keep it up!

I was wondering if you could post a 3/4 of the fish/man head bust ?

Seems the outside of the eyes very deep, crevase like, and the eyebrows are predominant. It's hard to know from a front shot, thought.
