    Problems loading threads?

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned in another thread, but I was wondering if anyone else has been having problems loading threads?

It seems for the past month or two (maybe even longer) that it takes an incredibly long time for threads to load, or they don't even load at all. The general forums seem to work fine, but any thread within them doesn't.

I don't know about anyone else, but it's been going on so long that I've found myself not visiting as much, or leaving the site right away when the threads don't load. Anyways, I hope this is just a temporary problem.

Yep, I have. A way around is to log out. But thats just as much a pain sometimes, as you cant reply stright away to a thread, and/or when you're logging back into the thread to post, it doesnt actually load at all.

it's been like that for me for a few months now. Makes it a HUGE pain in the ass to look at anything and even bigger pain in the ass to particiapate in the forums.

It takes me around a half hour of clicking and praying to update and rename my SB. I see that as a major problem.

I've had the same issue. Usually I'm doing so much on the web that I just reload while I do other things, but sometimes it is annoying. Especially at work. I often get a plain white screen.

Yes, although I generally encounter it with threads that are high-volume/high-traffic. One such thread won't load, then I'll click on one that's smaller and it'll load right away.

Yeah, I've noticed that also Mirana. I also seem to have the problem more with Firefox than with IE.

i've been expericing all the same problems like everyone else here. I couldn't access my sketchbook all day yesterday. I couldn't get into the lounge yesterday to find a thread like this to share my concerns. I've been experiencing this problem for a few weeks off and on now. I hope everything gets cleared up.

I've found the additional loading times to be a good opportunity to doodle. (:

Wow, I thought I was the only one and it was some peculiar brower problem.
    Now I feel much better.

Could the amount of users logged in be the big problem? There's around 1000 almost everytime I go here. Maybe that's why threads loads slow?

Still, some threads loads up in no time for me while others won't even try to load. I usually wait 10 mins and retry later.

not to short-circuit anyone's bitch privileges, but it isn't going to speed up the process of fixing this problem to have more and more threads about it. it's been PM'd to a couple of Admins, and i'm awaiting word on some possible new steps to be taken, but until then, please hold off on this kind of post. it's a well-known glitch, and the powers-that-be have been notified.

Um masque I don't see anyone bitching in this thread, everyone so far has just shared the problems their having with the threads loading. I'm glad its been brought to the attention of th admins, but how are we suppose to know the problems been pm'ed to the admins. This is another way of addressing the problem isn't it?

I've used Opera, Firefox and IE while on here, and it doesn't seem to be a browser problem.

Also, it doesn't seem to be a "number of users" problem either, since it varies a lot depending on when I get on.

It's starting to get annoying when I browse and really want to comment though. It's gotten to the point where I just nevermind the comments and browse instead usually. Did an effort to comment stuff today, and it's taken.... hours. Between the other stuff I've been doing.

well, a quick look around the site to see if any existing threads address the problem would have been a pretty good idea. logical place to start would be the "Support" section, and there's 2 threads right there.

as far as addressing the problem, no, reporting it isn't gonna do much unless you have something to add (see Support>Connection problems?). if you have experience with vBulletin, PHP, and Apache server software, then maybe you could contribute your informed opinion on possible places to investigate the issue.

as far as the "bitching privileges," just a figure of speech, sorry if anyone takes it as anything else. we all got 'em, it's just a matter of using good judgement when and where to exercise 'em.

Point taken, but I never noticed the Support section before. I was looking in the lounge for the thread that used to say "Forum Problems". I was on the way to work, and thought I'd post something real quick. Now I know the Support section is there, and from now on I'll check there.
