Into the Pixel Art Show-submissions are open for GAMES INDUSTRY ARTISTS

    Heya,

If you are working in games, there is a contest going up where your works get to be shown at e3 this year. It is very good exposure. MB will be submitting as well. Take a look!

    http://www.intothepixel.com/index.php

"The 2007 Into the Pixel Art Exhibition (ITP) is an exploration and celebration of the art of the video game, curated by interactive industry veterans and experts from the art establishment.
The Into the Pixel exhibit will feature 16 exemplary works of video game art, selected by a panel of jurors from a field of submissions gleaned from artists around the world. The exhibition offers an opportunity for published video and computer game artists to be reviewed and recognized by the public and by their peers in both the art and video game milieu.

Video Games are an influential aspect of pop-culture and entertainment whose impact goes beyond the digital arts to influence perspectives in art, cinematography, literature, and even fashion. Behind every game character and dynamic environment are artists whose talents birthed the image seen in the 3-D world.

The 2007 Into the Pixel Art Exhibition will premiere at Creative Artists Agency in June. The framed art will be unveiled in July at the E3 Media & Business Summit in Santa Monica, California. The Exhibition will open to the public at the new E for All Expo at the LA Convention Center, October 18-21, 2007. "

I wonder if they take actual pixel art ('sprites' pixeled mostly by hand). The line between analog and digital art has become increasingly fuzzy. (Edit, not only between analog an digital, but also between movie and game art. There used to be a time when game graphics were designed by hand on grid paper, converted to binary manually and keyed in. Some of the early Mario stuff was made this way.)

Jamen jag tror att han skäms, och har gömt sig. Vårt universum det är en av dom otaliga spermasatser som Herren i sin självhärliga ensamhet har runkat fram för å besudla intet.

Thank you for sharing this, Jason.

I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

I saw this at e3 a few years ago and was really bummed at the lack of 2d

    Some real nice 3d though.

There's still an E3, but it's going to be pretty different than what it used to be. It's a smaller, stricter event just for the industry and selected media.

and there is also E for All....which is an even larger e3 event open to the public. The work is being shown there as well. This is a big deal. If you work in the industry, it would be great to see you enter. The MB crew is putting together their stuff to do the same. See you guys up there! Hopefully we will have some stuff make it into the show.

    Thank you for the information.

I do have one question, If for instance the work is not from a published project, but rather from the studio's idea-cauldron ... or from a prototype ... is it still eligible ?

Edit : found the answer .. Quote:

Art MUST be from published or soon-to-be-published video and/or computer games and must include confirmation of ship dates.

Well then maybe some other time .

    Hey everyone -

Submissions deadline has been extended until May 11th, so please do submit!!! You can submit art from already published or soon-to-be published games, and in a variety of formats (screenshots, models, 2D concept art...etc...etc).

Again, the website to submit is www.IntoThePixel.com.

    Thanks!!
    Kirsten
