Painting of a fist from observation

Well this is my first real attempt at painting from observation apart from any still life objects (fruits etc)..

First i did quite a rough drawing of my fist, then painted over it using a hard brush with a low opacity and flow.

    Any crit/opinions of it?

All done on Photoshop CS2, with a Wacom tablet.

it might be more important to you at this stage to draw a lot of hands instead of drawing one and colouring it
    your anatmy is lacking

yeah i need to work on my drawing a lot more..

in case people are wandering, my hand isnt fully clenched in the drawing, my hand was in a loose position so i felt more comfortable when drawing/painting it.
    thanks

Definatly work on more drawings and less coloring at this stage. The biggest problem with this picture is look at how wide the palm is compared to how wide the fingers are. On the plus side the shading is decent, but don't worry about that. all the pretty shading in the world can't cover up poor anatomy, so work on that first.
