Thread: Show your Studios [RELOADED]
July 22nd, 2008 #286
Well after lots of work remodeling and designing my studio its about 90% done. Here are the pictures let me know what you think.
By the way I am also remodeling a room to paint in. I dont want the fumes, paint etc in the same room as my computers etc. I will post pics of that room when its done.

New Setup I am currently arranging, new desk, almost same equipment as before:
I was tired of arangeing the cables of the Cintiq, so I improvised a Device to compress the unessessary cable length. And yeah, I've put carpet pads on the sides and below.
That way, if I am bringing the Cintiq with the laptop, I will just unplug the USB and DVI and bring the block alone. I already equiped the laptop bag with an Extra DVI and USB wire.

Brashen - DUDE! Same mouse! I also have a Razer Tarantula keyboard. I'm jealous though cause I want a Intous3 SE to go with it. That would be sexy Hmmm, when I can get a camera I'll try to take a pic of my dorm "studio"

This is a random question but - how do you organize your books? Are they seperated into fiction / reference or do you have fiction (and whatever other genres you may read) mixed i with reference books? Or are they alphabetized by author or title?
Once again, i apologize for the seemingly randomness of this question but i have always wanted a studio (and, similar to you - computers in one room, easels in the other) with a wall of bookshelves and i stumbled across this post and i was so happy to see your pictures. I have just always wondered 'when i have my wall of shelves, how will i go about organizing my books?'

I stick with traditional media in case you can't tell ... I have everything -- Oil, acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, pen, pencil, pastels oil and chalk, colored pencils, wood burning, air brushing.

hehe, nice thread.
I have no studio per se, I misuse a couple of rooms for my arting.
1)I used to paint here on this desk (yes there's a desk under there). Now I use it as.. storage.
2+3) I now paint here, in my bedroom. (Good idea? Don't know, but I do keep the turpentine/fixative in the storage room because of the fumes, although I did wonder what kind of wacky dreams I might have had.. xD) If I want to use that barre I just pile up all the stuff into the corner
4) And this is where I draw, and attempt to do digital art It's not always that tidy.Insanity is the key!
Also, studies are a key. And passion is a key. Also, so are inspiration, motivation and dedication. Talent can be a key. Insomnia can also be a key, depression is a sad rusty little key. Damn, artists need one hell of a keyring.

Two years ago, living in my aunts trailer. Aw yeah kitchen table.
Upgrade to living with my boyfriend in one bedroom.
This is the current setup today. I don't always have the canvas up, but I just started a painting class and it's the only available space to work.
(I'm using water mixable oils, so no turpentine or anything.)
I can't wait, soon we will be moving into an apartment! No matter how small it is it will be a HUGE space upgrade, and then I can actually store and work on more traditional media pieces!
It's funny because in the first photos I was still very casual about art, but now I'm alot more focused on it and you can tell!
