Seems I can't send you a reply via PM, so:

For opacity in Photoshop CS3 with the Airbrush pen's wheel:

Try looking under the Window / Brushes tab (F5?). There are a bunch of settings there, like:

    [] Shape dynamics
    [] Scattering

    etc.. Go to:
    [] Other dynamics

...and with the Control drop down menu, set Stylus wheel. Then make that as a tool preset so you can select it quickly (under tool presets). I turn it off for inking and blocking in, because I want fully opaque colors then. Somehow the stylus wheel won't give me that.

I use opacity control with the stylus wheel when blending. If I want to mix in just a tiny amount of a color I turn down opacity a lot. If I feel bold I turn it up. It's just the flick of a finger. I like using the pressure sensitivity for radius/size control because it allows me to get into nooks and crannies, and it makes inked lines look a bit more lively (even if they're never as good as the ones drawn on real paper).

peter, you are showing some nice improvement

on your perspective studies..I am not sure if the books you have go over this, but it is important!

when u have a repeating object, u can find the appropriate spacing by finding the midpoint, and drawing your new line through the midpoint on the edge of your box...I think the picture will make sense...

hey sup man ! nice updates
Prom seems to got a nice technique, however one think you can try is to keep your flow and oapcity turned off , keep only the size setting set on the pressure, and just play with the numbers from 1 to 0 on your keyboard ( 1 = 10 % , 0 = 100 % ) With time its easy to get used to it, and you probably know already that [ and ] are used to resize your brushes, and that the same key with shift added let you choose the hardness of your brushes. Hope to OC with ya soon, cya ~

Hey Peter! Thanks so much for commenting in my sketchbook; I reeally really appreciated it! Wow, looking through your sketchbook here, you've improved a TON just in the last few months. Your work ethic is pretty amazing, man. Your digital paintings could use a bit more finesse, but judging by your traditional stuff, it might be a brush problem. Otherwise, keep on improving, dude!
