    Necromancer - Ashes to Ashes

Hey guys. Here's a collab between Deadred and me. I did the lineart/sketch and she hooked it up with a cool paintover! She also fixed a ton of mistakes I had in the drawing which definitely helped me see a lot of errors I didn't notice before. Anyways, here you go! Comments and crits are welcome on both ends. Peace~

Smashing! Very unique turnout! His eyes are sucking me in (not the ones
on his hand the other ones) :]

He looks more like a Technomancer, not so much a necromancer. But its a great piece. Very cool concept, and it's cool to see people doing collaboration projects.

Bitchen shit, G! I remember really liking this sketch when I saw it (either on your blog or myspace, forget which one). I really dig your friends paint job too. I like almost all of her corrections, except for the changes she made to the boot. I much prefer your original design.

some issues with length of bodyparts i think.. at least enough to make me think about it.

cheers and a good job to both of you!

That's a very nice fantasy character with a real person presence... I liked it already when I saw the little thumbnail and it was nice to see the closer look didn't disappoint me...
Especially charming are his shoulders and twist of his body and tilted head... he is a hunk, you know... It's sad that life was cruel to him and he went through several body part replacements, but he is still a hunk . eheh.

I wouldn't mind to listen his life story while observing his naked shoulders .

    Crits:
The legs are way too long, be they a real man size the painting would be much more appealing in my opinion. I wish you ended them where his feet start right now...
The other thing I wish you twisted his left leg from knee up more to the center, it will give more attitude and dynamism to the pose I think.. Hips are a bit too low comparing to torso, I think.
The strange metal detail of his outfit from the waist down has a slightly wrong perspective...
It is very pleasant to look at your image though, details are tasteful and done effortlessly. I like it a lot.

the upper and lower half of the body dont feel unified, the placement of his feet make him seem as if he isnt actualy occupying the space he is in, and the botton left portion of his design feels wrather cluttered. Im much more interested his upper torso. take my critique with a grain of salt becasue I think your execution as with intent of this chracter is great, and these minor issues will faid with your next compostion and so forth.......

i agree the eyes (on his face heheh) needs more work, and i got too carried away with the boot when readjusting the knee section

(i'll try be more active here when i get a faster connection lolz, hard to post with dialup speed)

The sketch is aight, but the colour, huge improvement. I mean, generally thats just what happens, but still, wouldn't have guessed that the final would look sooooo god and soooooo detailed from the sketch.

PS, whats the deal with all the people not usin real legs, lawl
