    Yummy!

I'm so totally overwhelmed but the amount of fantastic art over here. I need more time before I can come up with a coherent comment. Bookmarked!

i really enjoyed browsing through your sketchbook. your analog airbrush works are refreshing in comparison to the mostly digital stuff here on CA. it's astonishing how you manage to capture a lot of athmosphere in all of your works....great stuff

i think "Tortoise" is one of my favorites. maybe it's a bit hard to read (like you already mentioned), but i really adore the shapes....it's a very inspirational piece

Naomi Ningishzidda - Thank you! Thanx for liking my red gooey, too! He's pretty jelly, thas fer sure! Please don't avoid the DSG, for Pete's sake.

Iridyse - Thanx for stopping by!! Eat all you like! Really?! -- Wait, do you mean overwhelmed by this thread, or by CA.org in general? I very much look forward to your "coherent" comments (You'd better make one or I'll thumb my nose at you)!

Tec - Thanks! It's good to hear the positivity about TORTOISE... I'll have to do more that's akin to it (but, more thoughtfully organized).

    Chupacabra - Thank you, sir!

hurricane - Give you what? STUDY OF A FIGUREHEAD? Hm... Well, I dunno about "give"... But, prints'll be available soon.

So, here's some new shtuff from me...

Got to love the old school approach you have Saw it on the blogspot you share with Davi. The last one is really cool, I like the structure and design of it. The head is a bit flat I think, partly because of the pose I suspect. Anyway, great to see your SB here.

    HunterKiller - Thank you!

hurricane - Thanks, man! I'll give you the heads-up when the prints are available.

yoitisi - "old school approach", eh? Ugh -- that makes me feel my age. You're right about the head being flat... I should watch it. Thanks for stopping by, though!

    Dandilion -

Quinn Simoes - Thanks! I'm glad people are liking LORIO.

Welp, I should really be updating with a bunch of new (old school) paintings, but I've been bad and can only post a few Photoshopperies I've done over the past coupluv days. Just a little thread CPR to keep the brain alive. I continue to timidly dabble with textured brushes... See whatchya think.

A colour treatment of this ฉola fellow... Might do another, later. I wasn't really picturing the fish scale look, but when it began to appear I just had to chase after it.

Oh look he even has that fluorescent skin fish have...I love it.

What's with the strange appendage on his ass? Nevermind, the mermaid un-nipples are unexplainable as well, I suppose...

    I love the shrimp...

Really nice color, not even sure how you made me see in a different color spectrum...hmm nice to see some digital work. My only crit would be sometimes your edges are soft to the point of fuzzy, and it will occasionaly ruin it for me. But usualy you have another focal point anyway, so maybee thats your goal. Either way, I love seeing more stuff from you, keep up the goods, Creepy goods.

Naomi - Thank you! Yeah, the sortuv opalescent quality of the skin was an interesting, and unexpected, effect. I've replaced that image link with one that isn't so intense on the reds. For some reason Photobucket always seems to oversaturate my files, and I'm then forced to desaturate the image and cross my fingers about the results. As for the butt-nubs, those are actually this weird hip that it has that performs a similar function to the human ass.

MonkeYoakum - Thanks! As to your crit about the soft fuzziness... Yeah, I've heard that numerous times before and I keep trying to deal with it. Can you get uber-specific about it though? I am able to find some softness, but sometimes I feel like I have a blind spot regarding it. See if what I've done in this posting has alleviated what was bugging you or not.

So, I did try another colouring, after all. I also tried to give it a higher polish in some ways... The nails gave me all sorts of difficulty, and took forever to figure out. The ฉola can reveals a rare attempt at reflectivity than gives me some hope for future specular investigations. Added some slightly less-vague bounced lighting that - at least - carves out the chest better.

    See watchya think:
