Been lurking for a while. Figure it's time to face the music and get involved. I need the critical help.
I just got my first dSLR (d80) a few weeks back, stepping up from a Canon a620. I haven't got many of my photos uploaded yet, but here is a very small sampling, some taken with the d80, others with the Canon. Critiques very welcomed please. I'm really looking to improve.

i love number 2....the feeling is great and the color is kewl.
sorry not much time for a longer critic
photography is my passion, digital art is my hobby, reading and drawing help me focus, music calms me
A few more from a romp around town yesterday...
I love #2,6, & 7! You clearly have an eye for good shots as well seeing as none of the shots you posted break any of the "rule of photography". In #4, 5 the background is very distracting and a shallower depth of field would definitely have improved the images a lot.
Thanks a ton for the critiques...that's what I'm looking for.
I agree about the DOF for #'s 4 and 5. Both were taken with my Canon point-and-shoot and were very spontaneous. Hopefully I'll get a chance to take some concert shots with the d80 soon.
Thanks again, and anything else you can pick at, please do. I'm really interested in improving everything from composition to lighting to color. Doing a lot of reading, experimenting, and more reading lately.
I think I'm going to set number 6 as my desktop wallpaper if you dont object. There are no Casa de Waffles any were near were I live now but I'm sad to say as a pre-teen in east Texas it was always a hangout and this pic stands out anyway just for compsitions sake. I like the darkened corners on number one it really draws the eyes inward toward the subject. Great stuff hope to see more soon.
