iMaiM con SABOR! SB2.0 Updates Often/Daily! C&C wanted!
Hey! Just opened a fresh physical book, decided to make a new thread. Working more on pencil with this one, cleaner lines and of course, anatomy. C&C very welcome; I might not show my studies because it's a mission to scan anything in a book this big, but hopefully the results will show.
Skip to the last page if you want to see anything half decent!

Another quick reference sketch, this time a live one.

Another ref, same person. I feel sapped of anything original, so I'm stuck on reference studies.

Just another couple doodles. Mainly to practice line and form, but also to show off my subconcious fetish for masked, bonded and tubed up women.

Nothing special, only spent a few mins on it, but the lines are getting cleaner, I think.

WIP just started, not sure where I'm going with it yet, but I like her pose.
March 26th, 2007 #15
Finished her, but you can see how I got rushed towards the end. I'm really hungry, and I couldn't concentrate. I still like the outcome for the time I spent.

Very nice man, you're definitely improving and getting bolder. Keep at it.
Things you need to watch for:
- proportion/ anatomy -- it shows a lot in the last sketch. Her arms are a bit shortened and her leading leg does not appear to be forward it looks deformed. I definitely like the hatching action you got there.
- play with shade value a bit and don't be afraid of it. This shows a lot in your pic of your girlfriend. It's a great sketch it just seems you were afraid to really play with the dark/light values. Also, your concept shading seems to be the same type of lighting. Get messy with it. Light underneath/ directly above/ 2-3 light sources etc.
Looks pretty damn good though...keep it up...and thanks for shrinking down the pics...you were giving my cpu a heart attack

Thanks! I'm selftaught and haven't given as much time to pure studies as I should. I'm going to dive back to that for a while. XD And yeah, a hard part of that sketch off the photo was the flash didn't give much obvious shading for me to work with. I really suck with it if I don't have a little something to start with. If anyone has a good book that helps with that sort of thing, I'd love to know the name!!

Some shading practice, I havent drawn much this week! Can't seem to get myself to sit still long enough.

got some nice bodies and poses there!
i like the "tubed woman" alot, great pose!
do you use ref for the bodies, or are they out of your mind?
March 29th, 2007 #20
All out of the mind. The only thing I referenced here were the portrait sketches.
Thanks for the comment! ^_^

Another doodle. I don't think my scanner is even picking up everything on the page anymore Maybe it's dying.

I like this one, I think it came out pretty decent! ~30 mins spent.
edit: He looks like he's leaning a bit to his left 'cause I scanned it kinda crooked. Too lazy to redo, so, yeah.

cool stuff, i dont know if this will help but it looks like your drawing the figure directly on to the page, it helps alot of you do some light lines to get the form you want, then do the outline.
keep at it

myalias: Thanks I do a light figure outline beforehand, I just either erase what shows or override it.

Anurizm: Thanks, I'm trying. There's more work behind what I post, I just hate posting the boring stuff.
