I'm always looking, and everything is great as usual in here.Digging the last piece especially, and now the pose is much more expressive. As usual in your work, the concept behind the piece is actually interesting, and clear even without reading the blurb.Looking forward to seeing the complete piece to give you my vote!
hope everything's going well for you and as usual, i'm waiting for the next update!

    ciao

Anjin: Thanks! I totally forgot to upload the final version in here, so here goes.

Devere: Hehe thanks again for the crit!

FraserMcT: Thanks, yeh skintones and colours are still one of my weaknesses, but I'm working on it. Oh, and it's supposed to be a penguin hat with fitting suit, not a duck

Ardescoere: Hey, was fun to meet up with you! We should do that again next time I'm in Toronto

    Dr poPcoRN: thANkS!

Lord M: Thanks! Yeh the rolls are supposed to be parchment, I don't know what happened there...I think they look a bit off because I was working on my brand new laptop and i'm not yet used to how light the screen is compared to most others -and I was in a hurry to finish it I guess.

William b. Hand: Hey dude, thanks! Yeh I secretly hope the gun turns up in the next Hellboy movie or something like that

    milu: Thanks!

Sickbrush: Heya! Just get your arse back to IRC, I should be online a bit more regular these days.

The Gnoll: Hey dude, thanks for dropping a note Here's the final again, with some other doodles.

So I totally forgot to update this thread with my final for ChOW, so here it is:

Also some random stuff from my sketchbook (in pencil for a change). First one is a random Allosauroid that I drew while hanging out at the Atelier when I was in San Fran, second one is just some random crap, third one was meant for the Mutation Nation challenge on ArtOrder but I'm not sure I'll finish anything for it. Lastly, some sketches for a new pin-up up that I'm planning on working on soon.

More Mutation Nation goodness, been sketching some more on it and decided to go with a crocodile/wildebeast combo. Lots of stuff left to do and fix on this one yet

    Devere: Thanks man

Here's another update. Had fun drawing an Easter themed Pin-up girl for the Not-your-father's Pin-up blog. Decided to try out a darker skin colour this time.

And a 1-hour TD on IRC again, topic was 'Dragon Slayer'. Went with traditional tools for a change, a simple fineliner that I completely wasted by doing all the hatching on rough paper

Crocobull is amazing. Love the texture. You seem to have a great variety in what you do here. It makes me want to do more traditional media drawing.

    BubbaGump: Bloody thanks!

Ilex Paul: Yep it's that time of year again.

Strela: Thanks! Yeh I try to do a bit of everything really. Traditional media are fun, I should do more of it actually. Haven't used my markers for a while...

    Anjin: Thanks man!

Here's a proper WIP this time, instead of just the final works. I figured I should tackle some more illustration type of work, so I got this old idea I have had in mind since high school (!) and started to work it out. Elves ambushing a human camp that has invaded their forest. The red colour is going to stay but I'm going to tweak things a little, but mostly I'm just trying to work out the composition of it all right now. Usually I don't plan enough with these things....

    That ArtOrder piece is awesome!

Do you use a pencil sketch for your pen sketches as layout or do you start directly with the pens? I'm very afraid of not being able to correct some horrible mistakes I would do with the pen.

Zeitwolf: Hah yeh I should do more with pen and marker again I guess. Been doing a lot of PS-ing lately.

John: Heya man, doing good. Totally busy though And yeh, dunno if I'll get to finish the elf piece actually...

    meticulous: Here's some more!

LordVenom: Thanks! Yeh I used to have the same problem, but the only way to get rid of that is to just plunge in and try -it's liberating Just start light and thin and work from that. The Dragonslayer piece is done straight with pen, I only had an hour so wouldn've had time to do it any other way.

The Flying Dutchmen, syk3, IceCold, Flying Panda, JustinBeckett, vatteh: Thanks!

TheGnoll: Hey dude! Yeah dunno if I like that Elf piece that much anymore, I might pick it back up at a later point maybe

    JiR: Thanks for stopping by!

Seraph Fawkes: I'm currently freelancing for various clients actually. Also still trying to finish my study at some point

So, now for something completely different! Did this one for my girlfriend I wanted to do something more with the penguins I drew earlier, and figured I could try my hand at a more childrens-book style kind of thing.

And something I did for the Concepting Magic challenge over on the ArtOrder blog. The topic is to create the visuals for a D&D spell, in either an illustration or storyboard kind of form. Not sure I'll be able to finish anything for it though...

    Aaaawww, that's adorable!

One crit on the penguins... I'm noticing that the blackness of the penguins (and also the rope ladder, to a lesser degree) is much much darker than these other areas that are in the same plane, and in great shadow. This inconsistency is leaping off the image at me.

That bird in the foreground seems misplaced to me, too... He looks joined to the anchor, and doesn't fit the composition... maybe put him elsewhere in the image?
