xberts sketchbook :::last update Sep 16th 2015:::
im quite not as good as the other great artist that showoff their art in this great forum - but hey, i spend my whole time with playing guitar and the piano so there is no time to train my drawing skills - anyway i thought that i should spent more time on drawing so i maybe will become an real professional concept artist on day but i think that im far far away to come in touch with the technical skills that most of you allready have (i even think that im just not talentet enough) anyway im gonna train from know on. you will see the results in here. and i will see what im able to - and what not.
my english is bad
but any comment or critique is highly regarded!!!
this is a mogg. my newest sketch i drawed it 2 days ago
a first try in portraiting myself
a quick sketch of a small fighter i done with gimp
an ink sketch (older one)
a fast color and light study (its showing a train station (made with the gimp)
enjoy and help me to develop my skills as fast as possible

Welcome to CA. Love the self portrait. And the creature design. Cant wait to see more of your work.
some skribbles i've done over the last days
btw. : how can i add a thumbnail to my sketchbook-thread?
i finished this 5 minutes ago spent a few ours on this one my personal task was colors and shadows
i like the colors in this one maybe the anatomy of the hand is a little bit weird - but hey, im no pro
I really dig your light study and the first sketch! That tree looks cool, like how only the base of it is finished and the rest sketchy. Keep them sketches coming!
Digging the colors on the hand. I also love the Mog in your first post. Do you plan on coloring him?
thanks for your kind words!
well i didnt think about coloring the mogg - but... why not?! yerah ill do
but for now here's a new light and color study ive started sometime ago and finished it a few minutes ago:

awesome updates. Im really enjoying the environment pieces you did. Especially the trees. Just crazy detail in those.
this should be the last color/lightning study for some time - i really have to aim better anatomie and perspective feeling now
cool art!!! ur not that unskilled. actually u r skilled. i'd suggest u look for the video about doing portraits by Daniel Greene. he is a really well known portrait artist. i watched this video where he teaches the proportions of the face and it really helped my drawing a lot. but um u wont see it on my sketchbook thread coz i havent scanned them. but watching it really helped me. i like that hand and the tree on the cliff u have! ^_^
Xbert, thanks for stopping by at my sketchbook, I really like your sketchbook, the mogg is very original and very well detailed, the enviroment study is awesome!, in all your sketches you manage to show a lot of feeling through colors & lighting, you are really good at it, also your tree/creek sketches are great, they transport you to that place.
Please keep posting!.
