    thanks a lot!
well brushes - imnot really settled in any speciic approach on painting (yet) but when i want to render stuff clean i mostly prefer to use just the standard round brush with some pressure sensitives - but wellsometimes i like crazy custombrush experiments, if youre interested <you can drop me a pm, then i could send them to you

no i never took any classes, i was a physics student and hobbiist painter until last octobre, well started with my first freelance gigs jan 11 but well since i started to take it serious in octobre i read a lot of books about art watched some videos and stuff i think this website helped me a lot too. and practices the usual i guess lifedrawing alot doodling round from mind, or painting the fellow travellers in the train - and what helped me the most: working on indie projects, you wont have any motivation problems if you have a cool team around you

    -------------------

stuff im working on, some crap some cool

Xbert is one of my skype friends and we talk a lot about work, hes a really good person to get to crit stuff, and its been amazing this year watching how his work ethic has paid off and his work become so exciting; he also hates it when i say one artist or another is really awesome, he feels that isnt the point of the whole enterprisem so itll annoy the hell out of him when i say this isnt just one of my favourite bits of concept work, it is one of my favourite images from anywhere in the last 12 months

known only by his informal CIA nickname, for the superhuman cunning and devastating political impact of his attrocities; this is the only existing image of The Kingpin

What is a quick technique for getting the repeated details like the tread on the outer edge of the wheel in your Nasa vehicle? If you used a custom brush you did a great job building it, because the integration is fantastic. Also do you use the same technique for adding details like in the lower right corner of your last enviro? That looks like it could be clone brushed so it is hard to say.
Anyways, your last enviro is fantastic, could have been interesting if you used the pools at the bottom of the image to disrupt the top down, blue to yellow-green gradient that is over everything. If they were just a tad blue and the explorers had some trace of blue it might force movement in the area a little more.
    As always,
    Thanks for sharing.

i use several techniques - in that nasa vehicle the detail on the tyres come from the detailled 3d mockup i made while most of the surface details are "simply" painted. in the enviroment nearly the entire image with all its details is done with the ps standard round brush i like to work that way the most and whenever im not under time pressure (like when working for freelance jobs) i prefer to work that way - though when under time pressure i use to paint a lot of textures and use them as overlay layers f you dont want to paint them on your own you can use phototexture sources like cgtextures.com but id say be careful with stuff like that, its a thin line between when these phototextures give your painting detail and impact - or simply destroying it because of mixed up detail density and gruesome photo artifacts everywhere

Keep on rocking man, your work is improving post by post. Especially like the choice of colors and the looseness you achieve even in your tighter pieces.

    WOW!

Dude you have improved!!!!! That car painting on page 17 was crazy, it looked like it was moving or causing some effect making my eye think it was moving lol I also like that one of that huge guy about to squash the guy with the shield with a big rock. Just amazing rendering of the muscles. Your color choice really shows the raw emotion in the painting, reminds me of some old Frank Frazetta paintings of Conan. Thanks alot for stopping by my sketchbook man as well man!! Its good to be back Keep up the great work man!!!!

I really like this one, it seems to me you reached the right balance between detailing, weights and composition. Everything is enough to be totally descriptive without resulting useless. Top!
