xberts sketchbook :::last update Aug 8th:::
im quite not as good as the other great artist that showoff their art in this great forum - but hey, i spend my whole time with playing guitar and the piano so there is no time to train my drawing skills - anyway i thought that i should spent more time on drawing so i maybe will become an real professional concept artist on day but i think that im far far away to come in touch with the technical skills that most of you allready have (i even think that im just not talentet enough) anyway im gonna train from know on. you will see the results in here. and i will see what im able to - and what not.
my english is bad
but any comment or critique is highly regarded!!!
this is a mogg. my newest sketch i drawed it 2 days ago
a first try in portraiting myself
a quick sketch of a small fighter i done with gimp
an ink sketch (older one)
a fast color and light study (its showing a train station (made with the gimp)
enjoy and help me to develop my skills as fast as possible

cool art!!! ur not that unskilled. actually u r skilled. i'd suggest u look for the video about doing portraits by Daniel Greene. he is a really well known portrait artist. i watched this video where he teaches the proportions of the face and it really helped my drawing a lot. but um u wont see it on my sketchbook thread coz i havent scanned them. but watching it really helped me. i like that hand and the tree on the cliff u have! ^_^

Xbert, thanks for stopping by at my sketchbook, I really like your sketchbook, the mogg is very original and very well detailed, the enviroment study is awesome!, in all your sketches you manage to show a lot of feeling through colors & lighting, you are really good at it, also your tree/creek sketches are great, they transport you to that place.
Please keep posting!.

Hey man, I'm glad to see your started an SB here and thanks for commenting in mine a long time ago. You've got a great style, I really like how you handle colors in your work even when it's scribbles. For example:
Is that pencil or did you add the color later on the computer? If it's real pencil /pastel you did amazingly good and you should work more with that medium. Either way good job.
I also love the hand in #5.

blablabla my english is to bad to write interesting sentences.
anyway here my last quick sketches...most of them are done during my physic lessons so there wont be much detail in most of them:
here is some cg work i did for a freeware game made by sechsta-sinn http://www.sechsta-sinn.comor german site http://www.sechsta-sinn.de
its a 2d realtime strategie game its really worth a look!!!
they are based upon 3d models with a lot 2d workover mainly made in the good old paint shop pro 7
for example heres a model i made for the wasteland cliffs:
and here some cg wok i did for retro 2d shooter games:
the characters in the following one are made by waldemar klassen
so hope you enjoyed!
last but not least a photo of me doing what i can do est and what i like most:

Mate, such a diverse range of stuff; really cool. Your game work is top knotch, and go the raiden style shooter! Some of your anatomy stuff is a little weak, but I think you're bound to overcome that, I'll bet.
