This is a funny little bug I found in Painter X, lets see if anyone out there knows if it can be fixed easily, or if I will have to wait for the patch.
Basically when I use a wacom pen button to bring up the brush variant pop-up window, and select a different brush variant (for example: from the digital airbrush to the fine spray airbrush) and draw; the ctrl+z undo command and the zoom in/out commands will no longer regester. I can go through the menus to undo and zoom, but not through the keyboard. If I go back to the original brush variant, I will be able to use the hotkeys again.
Yea, strange as hell. It will do this to me on my machine at work and at home, so I know its not a system issue. Let me know what ya think.
In WinXP Home SP2, I can use my stylus toggle thing to open the contextual menu and choose another brush variant, then use Ctrl+Z to Undo and use Ctrl++ or Ctrl+- to zoom in or out, and use Ctrl+0 to Zoom to Fit.
What platform and OS version are you using?
I am usting XP pro (sp2) at work, and XP home (sp2) at home. Another guy here at work has the same problem. The hotkeys won't regester, although you can still rotate the canvas with space+alt.
If you are using a brush, and right click with the mouse to bring up brush variant pop up window, and select a new variant then use it. The same probem occurs.
The best I can suggest is to write to the Corel Painter Development team at:
Include a clear description of what's happening, your OS version, and any other details that might help them figure out what's going on.
