    RaistlinTheDark: 'preciate it!
    kru: Those are my intentions.
    aphexboy: Thank you, here's some.
Tmza: Uhhh...yeah. Flaw, there. I need to be more flexible. I'll try in the next week to draw a different range of ages. Better yet, no young women at all. Unless it's portraiture...if I have the chance to draw from life, I'm taking it.

Here are my sketches! I decided since I can never make myself finish things on time for opportunities like the teen challenge or character of the week, I'll just have to complete them even after they're due, just to complete what I"ve started. And maybe, just maybe, in time I will complete them before they're due. What a concept.
    Onward ho!

edit) 11.33pm central time. I added a digital. Roughly 40 minutes in OC with a reference.

the last one there is really fantastic. though it could use work on the far side of his face, it looks really great. im glad to see a more reasonable gap between updates!

UpDownTurnAround: Thank you very much. I felt it turned out alright, especially since I felt like giving up half way through, but I stuck with it until it worked. And it did, I just didn't stick with it long enough. I guess there's something to be said for determination. This update was a little delayed...

A desert. Because I love the beautiful red tones they have. And also be cause I need to work my enviros a lot. Before I'd always painted everything free hand, but I did a lot of masking in this piece like I saw in a Gnomon Workshop video clip...can't even remember whose it was now. Bah.

I like how the colors worked in the atmosphere for this piece. But I don't like how it's kind of monotone in color value. There's nothing but reds and yellows here. For the next enviro I do I resolve to put some thought into it and do a thumbnail color test. Perhaps also have some more vision for something more creative than great shafts of rock.

I love the way you do hips on your women. You have a good sense of mass and a natural eye for colour...now its really just fine tuning and technique with the digital stuff. Good luck i'm lovin your stuff so far

Ped454: Hey thanks a bunch, you pretty much picked out my favorite parts of my own work. Or things that I like best when I happen to get them right, anyways. Any particular advice you've got? I'm trying to collect tips in comments so I can put them into action over the next week of my sketchbook.

Recent stuff. I've been working more into single characters, trying to refine the designs more and more. So it's more professional and everything.

Wow...it's been a long time. Okay, so school caught me off guard. And my work practically doubled my hours. Here's a DSG sketch I did yesterday. Yay mandibles!

Here's a bit of work from today, painter X work...I have trouble with the brushes in it... I think I'll just have to work on making my own because I just can't seem to achieve the look I want with any of them. I end up using the oil pastel brush with low opacity to get the amount of blend and softness I want. I would really like to use the oil brushes or the artist oils, but they just come across as way too textured to me. Maybe I'm using color wrong.

Mr. Spect: More updates shall come, thanks for stopping by!
Dan Valkar:I'll try to do that. Thanks for commenting, I appreciate the feedback.
Ms. Kitty: Ah! Thanks! Studies are good for everybody, yes. Thanks for the comment.

Here's a doodle. Some more sketchbook pages will come later. This is unreferenced, so I think I'll do my next one with reference, since this turned out more of a charicature.

Just some recent sketchbook stuff. I had the opportunity to do some animals from life, which was pretty neat, although difficult. They really move around a lot.
Oh yes, this was a painterX painting I started, just to practice some brushes. It came of somewhat successful I think...didn't finish it, though. I'll put in some more practice soon in digital painting.
Also I'm going to be finishing a still life in oil today, so I'll be able to post some pictures of that I hope soon.
    Critiques?

Dan Valkar: Ah yes...that is because I don't really know what a koala looks like, but tried to draw one anyways! Oops. I'm a bad faker.

i really like your style, it seems to suit character design very well, which i am guess you're particularly interested in based on your work.
your really churning out the stuff. keep it up.
    good luck.

Well here's another update. I did the girl in opencanvas, and then the unfinished crappy faces in PainterX. Ugh. I do not understand those brushes in the least. Better luck next time I think.

In closing, I want you all to watch this.

Here's a sketchbook update. Just took from my recent studies from life in my sketchbook as well as some other random doodlings.

Mr. Noeth: Thank you for the comment. I guess I sort of pride myself on my diverse influences. I like to think that I've got a little bit of everything in me. Because of cours,e there are so many great artists out there.

paperX: Haha, that's what you think. Ohhh okay, NZ...yes, definitely keep coming back. By the way, congrats on the 500+ posts! Quite an accomplishment, bro.
