I'm sorry for my long and sudden absence, I don't really have much to show for it. Been kinda demotivated, I have some digital, quite a bit of pencil work that isn't great, and I can't show it because I have no way to get it online yet, but when I can I will.

These are just boring, bad studies from pictures and some things from my head. I think I'm gonna need some help picking myself up :/

    Hey Smoke!

If you want to get anywhere, you're gonna need to stop putting yourself down. It doesn't matter how good you are, there are lots of good artists who hate their own work. But, it's up to you. Being positive will do it. Being negative will only hinder your growth as an artist, and a human being (IMO).
It's fun to draw. I'm sure that when you drew as a kid (every kid draws), you didn't give up at the end of a piece and call it crap. You had fun.

Stop taking it all so seriously and just have some fun drawing. You have to be happy in your work, man.

Hey! That mountain study you did is really nice. It shows confidence in how you put down your strokes and you have managed to make the form readable. In your other environments though the readability is a bit poor since frankly there isn't anything there except for planes of different values. Try to get some more info to your enviros and they'll improve a lot.

The shammen girl kind of confuses me i think the mountians were used along the back but they were scaled up so much that you lost the crispness. the yellow is my favorit of yesterdays studies althought you can see through some of the towers a bit

Great studies . i epic showed me the value studies of the hall way and thir n the list one thig that i think might help on things like the cloud studdies is that some point needs to reach a crispness or hardness of like 100% and then their can also be parts blurred and faded ut like you have i think you acceived this better on the lush small mountian study. keep it up and get to sleep

The mountain study is really strong, and that hallway is unsettling (in a good way!). You've made heaps of progress from page one...great work.

    Heya Smoke!

First, Max Challie is right, you're only hindering yourself by letting so much frustration come in.

Your landscape studies are very good, simple but effective.
I believe the main problem you have when painting from imagination is the composition. So try to leran from the photo studies you do how things are composed, and then apply to your imagination work.

    Hope that helps

    Hey dude,

Youve come a long way in your studies. As the others say your landscape works are fantastic. Youve got a good ability to add emphasis, emotion and power to your images through the composition of light. What i suggest working on is putting everything together in the scene a little more effectively, look at the photo studies some more, try simple 5 minute sketches to build up an understanding. The same with your human bodies, look at the proportions a little more, its a popular topic so look around on the forums, some great info, techniques and examples out there. Keep it up, your stuff is really becoming awesome

    Hello there!
You are improving a lot, keep them coming and its a given you'll be great before you realize it, don't expect it to be tomorrow but they day will come if you keep at it.

Keep posting those, even if people seem to not be paying attention at you at all. Commit to it, commitment is a hard thing but it's the best quality one can learn (I think Im telling this to myself). If I ever have children there's four things I want to teach them above anything else: commitment, persistence, hard work and confidence. Everything else is easy if you have those.

Some of your works look a bit empty and dead, not in a bad way, it can be intriguing. But try to add more interest and tension to your images and later try to find a compromise between misterious and not boring to look at.

    Thanks sodAp, that really helped.

    Have a value study.

Edit : I'm not going to have access to the Internet for long periods of time from this point on, until.....I don't know when. Could be months, so yeah.

Hello, Ca.org. New stuff, a lot of experimentation, lot's of what I feel is new direction for me, or a continuation of an old direction. Abstracts, studies, rambles, and such.

Tell me what you think, or just take a look.

Throwing in a quick hunchback study, wasn't feeling this one, cut it short and moved on.
