    Aspiring concept artist

Hello, I'm an aspiring concept artist (as the title so aptly explained). I'm still in high school, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to get me on my way. Any courses I might look into, websites to browse over, stuff like that. Any help is appreciated.

Well... look, you're on the forums of conceptart.com. Hence, you are a concept artist or at the very least think the art is cool. So you can probably think of some tips.

A concept artist must display courage and valor if he is to fulfill his destiny. You must face trials of SHADOW AND HELL before you can truly call yourself a concept artist.

Your first task, young one: You must let go of your social aspirations, go to the local video store and rent every single Sci-Fi + Fantasy film ever made, and then dig yourself a hole so that you may study the CONCEPT DESIGN of these films- in order to gather an ample VISUAL LIBRARY.

Once you have done so, when your hair is long and your newly grown beard is moist from drool, you must shave off this hair and beard, wound them into brushes, and then paint using them so to help you appreciate real drawing instruments when you begin using them.

Next, you need supplies. You will have THREE essential learning materials. First and foremost, you must go and watch EVERY single BOB ROSS video ever made, and learn from his BRUSH TECHNIQUES. Secondly, you will need to learn about anatomy; go and pick up any 8 volumes of the HOW TO DRAW MANGA series, these will be of utmost importance in your learning. Finally, when you have achieved a level of competence and understanding for CA, go to YouTube, and watch BOBBY CHIU videos until you achieve GREATNESS.

Oh great one, where might I find BOB ROSS?
And are there any good online tutorials/FAQs/Hermit-gurus that could assist me in the ways of Photoshop coloring?

Rythmus – there’s a link in my sig on the games industry, and another called Concept Art 101. They’re all for you.

I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

Perspective 101, Concept Art 101, Games Industry info,Oil Paint info, Acrylic Paint info, my sketchbook.
