    Students

Most pieces were created during these students first year in the Atelier program. A couple of the paintings were created by Eric Pedersen in the first quarter of his second year.

Orphan Works: Danger To All Artists!!

The bill is referred to loosely as the "Orphan Works" bill. The
essence of it is that if it passes, it will become very difficult for
all artists to protect their artwork from infringement or theft.
Artists would be required to pay money to private registry
organizations to register every single piece of art they create in
order to receive ANY legal protection for their art. Because if you
don't register your work, according to the new bill, it's not
valuable and therefore you are "orphaning" or releasing your legal
    rights to your art

This would include any drawing, sketch, painting, photograph,
sculpture, video recording, etc. that you ever create, or have
    created since 1974.
For an article that summarizes the situation:

For an audio interview that elaborates on the problem follow this link:

At the end of the first article you will find links to the people who
are fighting this: the Illustrators Partnership. They have been
organizing artist groups around the world to oppose the bill.

This issue will need the support of artists willing to write and fax
and email their congressmen in the next few months. Particularly for
us artists in California, because apparently California congressmen
play a key role on the various boards that would oversee the bill.

mm, when I click on housing you guys only have links to low income housing type websites. I know other schools have housing help with set locations/lowered rates with little to no hassle. Do you guys offer something similar to this?

    Housing?

    Hey Staaron,

Unfortunately we currently do not offer the type of housing assistance you are asking about. We do plan to have a set housing arrangement in the near future. Sorry about that.
