I usually don`t work more than 2-3 hours on a piece (`casue I have the attention span of a 3 year old...), and I almost never use refs (`cause I`m an idiot...), so this one is a special thing: I spent 3 days (on and off) on this painting, following the lovely Carmen Electra ref so close I could touch her (yeah...if Only...).

and it was excurciating (for the reasons mentioned above.)

Mmm! Carmen! lol Lookin' great, Chuck. Think I might have to have a stab at some digital studies/ref paintings. The color combination is really nice as well. And the things you do with photos always crack me up. The one you did with the fat chick and making her skinny was classic. lol You need to use your brush on my fat ass! Ha! Keep postin' and I'll keep sipping from the cup of inspiration!

Dude reading your thread title and seeing your stuff makes me want to cry. Why the hell haven't I come here before? You've got some seriously cool stuff going here, very inspiring work. There's a sort of maturity in the way you handle your subjects, but I can't quite pinpoint it - very sublime and subtle, that's primarily what I love about what I see here: the handle you have on what you do. Your personal work stands head, shoulder and torso above everything else here. Your colour choices are also stunning man.

Thanks for the PS impasto tutorial too, was actually wondering about how achieve such an effect in PS. I think I remember this thread being titled "do not rate" - but are you going to mind if I drop you a 5? You seriously deserve it.

Thanks for sharing, will be coming by here more.
    cheers!

Brendan N - hey man. that`s very good to hear. you`re welcomed to pay us a visit here any day...
