Hey Slav, I see you progressing alot with your stuff. In my opinion your compositions are exceptionally good, whereas your structure needs some work. I guess you'll do just fine, just stick to it.
    cheers

if you can elaborate what you mean by structure that would be soo awesome you have no idea. it will give me something to work on. at least something distinct.

I'll try to explain what I mean on the basis of your latest painting. While, as I said, the composition (more precisely the abstract color masses) leads the eye around very well - you seriously have a very good feel for that -, the underlying structure isn't clear. It's especially apparent at the top right corner of the image, and in general I can't tell for sure how some of the elements of the picture are positioned in space. Maybe it is a matter of finish, it can be that you leave the part of making the structure clearly readable to the last stage of painting. What I'm trying to say is that you could think about reorganizing your steps in painting/ drawing. Until now you concentrated on composition, to the relation of color/value masses. Try to incorporate more structure behind it.

I'm not saying that you should render everything to death, or draw/paint more clearly. This isn't a thing of rendering, it's just about the image that you have in your mind. The way you imagine the things you draw/paint affects your handling to a great extend. I'm not sure if I'm making this clear to you, anyhow I hope it helps. Cheers!

saa i think i have an idea of what you mean. i guess i kind of kill any detail in that area and did put any kind of back light for the creature's hand. but no matter. i totally get you. it sucks that i didn't do it though.

Charles Ratteray thanks for droppin in!

Awesome sketchbook! I love your lines and your lighting.
I really like how you pop people into environments; it is something I need to learn to do better.
No crits from me; just letting you know it's Super-Keen.

    Peace

    oh, here's my sketchbook.

Also, my website. It would get beat up in a fight.

Hey man! Great work, very expressionistic if slightly demented. Love the little squirl, very funny. Exceptional penciling! Keep up the good work.

zeroe: thanks ill post more life drawings in a while those things are a pain to scan in.

bbassir: demented? yea i used to do allot worse, i mean in terms of things being more demented. but i think its gotten better. i am really not sure if its a good or a bad thing but i am enjoying the end result and i am glad to see you are too.

This latest one is awesome. Funny/well done.

Perhaps the robot could stick out/shine just a tad bit more, but that's all I'd say.

Feet and legs look really small. You may need to take a look at that again Yaro. I love the colors of this last one though. Keep rocking it out.

ahh noo! i was just looking at the girl in the bathroom with the robots, and saw the reccomendation for the lazer shine, then after the reccomendation. i think it was much better before the lazer shine. It was already obvious what the robot was doing without hammering it in our faces with the lazerbeams. I liked the subtlety of it before. All in all you have some great stuff in here, i'll be checking back often, cheers.
