    concept:

Often a tedious chore for even the lowliest of prison guards, cleaning the dungeon became easier, safer and faster with the discovery of the Corpse Bug's very useful habit of dissolving it's meals before it ate them. This odd mix of crustacean and insect is known to disengorge acidic sacs from it's stomach, which it forces out of a seam in its carapace come feeding time. It uses its spade-like forearms to carve a hole in a corpse's rotting flesh, whereupon it deposits a number of sacs into the fresh cavity. It then punctures the sacs, allowing a thick cloud of acid to envelop the cadaver, which dissolves in hours. The Corpse Bug then absorbs the dissolved matter through large pores in its tail.
Unwilling to carry out diseased and rotting human corpses, guards need only place one Bug in a cell that needs a thorough cleaning. One of the more disgusting sights in the dungeon, far from the daily whippings and carving of flesh by human hands, is the sight of a slowly dissolving, once-human carcass, with a Corpse Bug waiting anxiously nearby for its meal.

The dungeon cleaner store water/moist from the caves and fill their bodies with water, hunt for animals and wildlife with their tentacles...drag them in and render the fat. Now and then they eat plants to filter the teeth.
That results in them creating soap inside their bodies...when they die the creature cracks and all the water runs out, washing the dungeons clean.

This is HeeryBeestie, one of the best cleaning creatures ever to have evolved, it's covered in very coarse fur which scrapes the walls of narrow dungeons and tunnels as it moves. However the HeeryBeestie is an incredibly stupid animal(i suppose this is good, if it were clever it's big and fast enough to pose a threat to pretty much anyone), it has decided that it's easier to eat things which don't move, to this end it has developed the tactic of giving stuff a good kick before it eats them, if after a sufficient wallop the victim doesn't move , the Beestie will start crunching with it's powerful jaws. unfortuantly the list of things that don't move is quite long and the HeeryBeestie often eats bits of armour, fallen boulders and will occasionally try to take a bite out of a sleeping dragon(not recommended)

    Grylotobyte
Grylotobytes are creatures that dwell in underground caves. They basically will eat anything in its path until their big stomach is completely full. The grylotobytes then retreats and lay still to digest alll the food. A large meal could keep it full for 3 months.
Their incredible appetite makes them a great tool to clean up the mess in the dungeon. Dungeon keepers release hungry grylotobytes into the dungeon, and when they finish eating, the dungeon cells will be empty and clean.

This creature was known as the "Dungeon Cleaner", once existed in the time of Medieval Kingdoms. Kings and Queens of the royal family all had one, to clean up after prisoners had died and/or made a mess of their 'quarters'. The dungeon cleaners, with their vacuum-like mouth's would enter and clean up the cells in fast time. THEY find sticky, bloody patches a delicacy

Well, my dungeon is a place where heroes around the world goes to defeat some monsters and to gain some treasures and experience, but the level of this dungeon is extremely high so the resident monsters kill lots and lots of heroes daily... being this way is usual that corpses, visceras and blood fill every single part of it.
The master of the dungeon paid a very high price to get our cleaner. It is something like an extra-fast-moving cockroach programed by some powerful spells to clean all the bodies and visceras by eating them and all the blood and liquids by sucking it by some kind of tentacles placed in it´s neck.... the dungeon must remain clean of horrible visions of violence to avoid that the ocasionals heroes runs away scared, and produce the feeling that they are the first ones to get in there.

And behold the lowly Squeege… a creature whose sole purpose in life is to feed. Just so happens man has found a way to live in cohabitation with natures little cleaner. Caves, Cellars, Dungeons and other subterranean dwellings tend to become filled with “muck” fairly quickly. By keeping hundreds of these creatures captive, they can be released at scheduled times to slide side by side each other shoveling in and literally making the rock walls, ceilings and floors squeaky clean. Their own wastes a mere trickle compared to the quantity they take in. With vast gaping jaws, shoveling extremities, and a caustic digestive system...they scour the surface devouring all manner of organic matter, (nice for treasure hunters looking for the odd bit of gold, or gems). In there relentless pursuit of food however they are not able to distinguish between that of the living or the dead…and many a trapped victim has been devoured by the very swarms he kept for housecleaning.

    Teirach Worker
The outer worlds of the Milky Way provided scientists with unique experimental opportunities. The Teirach Worker was spawned using various methods of cloning and cell stimulation. This creature would never survive during normal earth conditions but on a distant planet certain caves with abnormal traits gave scientists the ability to create impossible creatures. The Teirach worker relies on the extreme winds of its tunnels to supply oxygen throughout its body, captured in tiny holes across its body.
During the seventh universal war, these workers were put to work in the deep tunnels used by Earth forces. The tunnels were used to freight equipment and personnel at ultra fast velocity over great distances and were often a target to opposing forces. The tunnels were easily susceptible to sabotage due to the nature of the transportation, simply clogging the tunnel with wreckage or bodies was enough to prevent the carefully balanced cargo pods to go through. This is where the Teirach worker came in handy, this huge arthropod excelled in “dungeon cleanup” and was by engineering very fast. Wherever organic waste was disrupting cargo, the Teirach worker would scurry and coat the walls as it progressed through the tunnels with a secretion produced by glands on the back of its body. The secreted fluid would react with any matter other than the inherit cave minerals and liquefy them, then harden and create a plastic slippery surface, effectively keeping any waste pinned down underneath. This new surface suffered almost no friction whatsoever and allowed for smooth transports.

A bright burst of magic awoke me from what I thought was a nightmare.
My eyes flying open, I saw a creature that I had only known in the stories I told to frighten my own children. The Canderan Cleaner. Scavangers of the dark and moving in groups of 100 or more, these creatures are known to strip a corpse of flesh and bone in under an hour.
Temporarily blinded and surprised by this unexpected flash of light, it turned away and seemed to be staring straight into my eyes. I knew two things at that moment. One, that I was still alive. Pushing myself quickly away from this sickening creature before it decided that my face would be its next meal, the second bit of knowledge had a moment to sink in. That I wouldn't be for long.
For this particular creature is known to inhabit but one place:
    The Canderan Dungeon.
We had been caught, and our cause was now going to die with us.
This tiny creature, born of magic, has a bottomless stomache and an insatiable appetite. It will never stop in its search for more food. This quality is what keeps the Canderan Dungeon clean. Unfortunately, many live prisoners have fallen prey to the ravenous cravings of this single minded hunter of the dark.

The Horned Hound (more commonly known as the Emperor's Companion) is an incredibly rare animal. All those who have witnessed the legendary strength and vicious behaviour of it have perished (more than likely with dirty pants). The only known specimens of the Emperor's Companion belong to the Emperor himself. The beasts are loyal to whoever holds the Emperor's sacred crown. For over 700 years the Emperor and his predecessors would use these dog-like creatures to "clean" the dungeons. once a year the hounds would be let loose into the dungeon catacombs and chow down on anything (or anyone) they could get their teeth into. The beasts hyper-salivate, and their saliva contains deadly and corrosive acids. Since the hounds do not have lips to contain the saliva, the dungeon is usually drenched in corrosive acids which ultimately leave it clean as a whistle. The gory event is known as "The Cleaning" and is feared as both the worst and cleanest form of punishment in the kingdom.

    concept:

The giant dungeon snail originated from ordinary water snails that were trapped inside a dungeon as it was flooded due to a rise in water level. By the time the water levels fully receded the snail had evolved to be the perfect dungeon cleaner. Because of the darkness inside the dungeon these snails have lost their ability to see; however, they have developed multiple tentacles to help them locate food. They ingest rocks, dirt and bones to strengthen their shell, as well as just about anything else they can find for nutrients. They have developed claws to help them handle larger objects. When threatened this creature withdraws inside it's shell, and disguises itself as an ordinary rock. The giant dungeon snail is best known for the detergent and antibacterial qualities of its slime. Many adventurers have set off into dungeons in attempt to retrieve these snails for their slime.

    Caegian Blue Trapper
These legendary and extremely rare creatures are known to inhabit only the oldest and deepest dungeons. These creatures are obsessed with keeping their homes clean of both filth and other living organisms. The dungeon is infested with the vines and limbs of the trapper, seemingly overcome by the growth. It could be said that after a certain point, the dungeon is no longer a man-made place, but the living creature itself. The trapper kills larger prey by wrapping them in its vines and enveloping them with the odd purple blossoms at th ends of the larger limbs. Once trapped inside, they are burned by the blossoms core, which has an extreme heat to it thanks to a mixture of gasses and chemicals built up through the larger limbs from the creatures body. Once the prey is digested, its remains are added as fuel for the fiery cores.
Only several of these creatures remain, but there have been few if any records of these creatures being slain.

    Creature Measurement: 60 cm x 50 cm
Description: Vacuumo is a medium size creature breeded in the deep dungeons of the Old World. You see, a lot of Evil Bad Lords and Necromantes create thousands of demons, ghouls, ghosts and whraits as a soldiers of their mighty armies. But in fack, they also must create a lot of lesser minions for doing "All of this little but nasty things, that no one want to do". That how the Vacuumo was created. The powerfull Lichlord, Xaxunvanthasurgras (hint: names of the big bad stuff dudes must have at least one or two "v" and "x") was very upset because of the messy dungeons. All those heroes guts and spawns glutton... so, he used his powers to create creatures, that can clean his precious dungeons - the Vacuumos. Those little bastards use their mouth like a Vacuum Cleaner - the mouthbags is full of high pressured air, needed for goos vacuuming. So, Adventurer, if in your big underground journeys you will meet those guys, just don't worry - they are harmless. And you from now know, that your archopponent like clean dungeons...

Long ago, fierce and brave dragon hunters and adventurers explored into the depth of dungeons, seeking for treasures and slaying anything in its path. Even the strongest of monsters were eventually slain.. Demons and Dragons... The most famous of all dragons were of course the fire dragon, not many lived to tell the tale. Even less knew how the dragon created flame, it was not just magical, it was not from their stomach, fire dragons has a special heat gland at their throat which allows them to melt down and digest anything that is consumed.
As monsters faces the risk of extinction, the fought for survival naturally strengthened. With food being scarce, creature such as this one found its new home. Attaching and slowly merging itself to the slain young fire dragon's head, it uses it's acidic tentacles to sweep and gather anything consumable, transforming the heat glands into its digestive system, it is capable of digesting almost anything.. The creature itelf is not aggressive, for its sole purpose is to survive, most of the time it hides in the shadows, coming out only when it knows everything is safe. Because of its manipulative body of the dragon's head, no creatures dare wander near its path. No one has seen this creature, but mysteries spread of why dungeons are kept so clean, not many signs of the remains of the hundreds and thousands of slain monsters and adventurers. As the mystery spreads, people then joked about it and the name "Dungeon Cleaner" was created of this legendary creature that kept the dungeon clean...
Although....after digesting a meal, it does release acidic gas into the air...but then again, it's only a Dungeon Cleaner, not an air purifier...

The dungeon cleaner is a non-aggresive denizon of the underworld. It's primary method of defense being to simply wait in the background until it is alone and can go about its business of lapping up the detritus strewn about the place. It has developed a bright red carapace to attempt to trick any would be adversaries into thinking it is more threatening than it actually is, though in reality it will only attack if left with no other option.
The dungeon cleaner spends its time zig-zagging through its particular dungeon scraping the floors with its webbed claws, pushing any and all debris into its tenticular tongue to be devoured.
Unfortunately for any would be adventurers, the dungeon cleaner doesn't have a huge appetite, so most dungeons are pretty filthy whether they have a cleaner resident in them or not...

    Class: Reptimammiliopinus
    Sub-order: Carcericola
    Family: Eattalottacorpses
    Genus: Paleobareggs
    Species: P. trigonatus unioculus
Brief Description: Extreme metabolism/short life spanning carrion eaters come by the dozen in this critter/creature. Its chameleon-like skin can become phosphorus, which helps in dark places.
It hatches from eggs which are kept dormant by being stored in vinegar filled glass jars, and once they hatch they only live for two days no matter how much they eat. Once its body burns itself out, it evaporates and leaves behind the fresh scent of pine.
    WARNING!
Once hatched and released into the dungeon, there must be no dungeon personnel in the dungeon in question for the next two days. Otherwise you’ll be needing to fill newly opened dungeon positions following the evaporative stage of this animal.

My dungeon cleaners are inspired by rats, omnivorous, voracious critters, often appearing in large number. First I just wanted to make huge mutated rats, like the Skaven have in Warhammer, but then I crossed them with a stag beetle.
When you find yourself in a dungeon venturing forth and notice a lack of... stuff lying about... it is a sign that their might be some overly hungry herd animals inhabiting these walls! Scridders are beaver-sized creatures, live in large heards, run around frantically and will eat anything in their way, be it dead or alive, they can digest dry wood and human bones. Your only chance is to recognize them coming by the clanking sound their antlers make when hitting obstacles and by their constant shrieking and hissing!
Note: The females have the larger antlers, so that they can fend off horny males, if the female is just not feeling it.

It looks like it has a giant brain but actually it is the fat that is stocked right next to the brain, conflicting with it and making the creature always hungry, which is good for some non-stop cleaning the bloody waters of the dungeon.

This Creature Affectionately called the 'Disposal Unit', was created by a demented Mage after he realized his dungeon needed cleaned up for the special slave encampment being brought to him. In a flash of a spell the creature crawled out from the portal. Nothing is known about hte creature except that it has a voracious appetite for anything living or non-living and its gut seems to expand until it drops off its lower abdomen to create another one of its kind. Fortunately, after the first one clean house, it could only make one of it offspring.

Every wizard knows the secret to a tidy dungeon is a healthy Leebuvaac. The Leebuvaac's natural diet of soot, offal, carrion and other debris makes it the perfect janitor for any dungeon. Two tails on the Leebuvaac's behind spray clouds of acidic, digestive ichors which cling to dungeon walls and dissolve grime and bacteria. The partially digested mixture runs down the walls into puddles on the floor. This soup is then sopped up by the Leebuvaac's shaggy visage. The cleansing mist of the Leebuvaac's hind parts leaves behind clean stone walls and a pleasant lemony scent. The Leebuvaac isn't a comely creature by any definition of the word. However no dungeon is complete without this helpful beast.

    artist: Tom Cardin
    concept:

    Dear Sirs,
My stay in your fine dungeon was a wonderful experience. Your staff was firm yet courteous. In fact every guest of your dungeon that I saw was quite at ease. I think you owe a lot to your unobtrusive and efficient cleaning creatures. Why, even when one guest mistakenly went down the wrong corridor and triggered an automated security measure the mess was cleaned up with all haste by these dilligent workers. These creatures scrubbed every surface spotless, with their many long tentacles they could reach into the furthest corner of my suite without even opening the door. I have stayed in many dungeons before but I have never come home to my wife in such a fine state of health, she even complimented me on all the unsightly weight I had lost.
    J.T. Federmier, your humble peasant.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    artist: Tom Garden
    concept:

This dungeon cleaner makes light work of the usual grueling task of having to wash down the blood soaken walls of your common dungeon. No longer do you need to scrub up and down the walls, pick the bits of flesh out of the cracks in the wall, NO! because now you are the proud owner of this dungeon cleaner! Sit it down in the middle of your dungeon, and let it get to work! It emits acidic liquid from its 4 horns. The liquid sprays out and condenses raining a rather potent cleaning acid over the dungeon walls and floor. It gets to work on hard to clean stubborn stains, and brain matter! All you will need to do is mop it all down the drain when its finished. And dont forget you can also buy our special anti-acid protection suits for a reasonable price!

    concept:

It's a reptile that lives in the darkest of dungeons and feeds on the flesh of the dead. It lives in nests built by bones and is therefore often seen collecting skeletons. It has a strange habit of collecting shiny things such as medallions, armours, coins and weapons. All of the items is then stored as far back in their nests as possible.

    artist: Per Roth
    concept:

Ironically, the most feared Dungeon Cleaner of them all isn't even borned inside a dungeon. In the desert plains of Dham-Hooth the gigantic Ooglee Bug can be found burrowed deep under the ground.
Nobody knows exactly how, but the secret society of monks from Athee-Ist have found a way to bring these monsters out of their hiddings and even capture them. They are then transported great distances to be delivered (for a hefty fee, of course) to dungeons.
They are completeley blind but have an excellent sense of smelling, and a stomach that seem to hold anything. They eat almost anything organic, such as flesh, but also even clothing and bones. Most of the time they are just draged down into the dungeon and released. Since they can't move backwards or turn around in the small tunnels, their only way is forward, making them a horrific sight for anyone crossing their path. If the tunnels are larger they are just keept chained to the wagon and pushed around in the dungeons, used as "cleaning machines" or weapons of mass destruction

    Goblins' Shit Eater
    "....MASTA SAYS ......CLEAN!!!... ME CLEAN!...."
"...the worst thing that heroes and adventurers can find in the dungeons, except monsters, are excrements of this monsters. The most stinking shit is left by goblins.
For a long time there was a problem who should clean goblins cages but one of the sickest minds of this times....Mighty F'zzatti has created monster that can handle with the mess left by Goblins. The Dungeon Cleaners aka Goblin's Shit Eaters just love to eat goblins' shit, they also have a mechanism that helps consume this "meal". All dangerous chemical substances are excrete from the Shit Eaters organism in the mighty farts!!!....

THE CREATURE (COW): I wasn't scarrey enough, and too fat.
HUO: What the hell are you anyway?
COW: I'm half snake, half dragon and half goat.
HUO: Hmmm, dragon, eh? Can you spit fire?
COW: Yeah, I'm great at that, I can burn a viladge in no time!!!
HUO: SO, your flegm is alcohol based, yes?

    concept:
    The Arabian Slug Rat
also known as “The dungeon Cleaner”
    From the journeys of Athir
Abdul Nasir found the strangest thing couple of days back. I helped him plunder a nearby tomb. He bought a map of this place from one of those shady mercs in town.
The tomb ended up being far larger then the two us could of ever expected. Thing stretched for miles underground. Know way this thing was a tomb…it was a dungeon as far as I was concerned.
We walked for hours and found practically no gold or silver down there…absolutely nothing. No pearls or diamonds…the place was wiped clean! Somebody got there before us! I was pretty much determined to strangle Abdul Nasir once we got out of this hellhole.
Then by mistake, we found it! I slipped and landed my butt right on this ugly thing. Thing was so freaking awkward looking. It was it least the size of a rat. Pretty much it was a massive slug with a real ugly tail and a glowing head…and it smelled like a dead carcass.
We found a room full of these things attached to the walls and ceilings. They lit up of room like fireflies. Maybe they used their glowing heads as a way of seeing and navigating. These things actually were cleaning everything. It seemed like their slime coming from their under bellies were leaving a nice sparkle to the walls.
Abdul Nasir decided to Bag a couple of these things and we sell them for a nice price at the market. People are begging us now to sell more of them actually. I guess they really are great cleaners and the demand for them is high.
Would you like to buy one?

    concept:
    Dommarcux
    Locutus Genraamus
The Dommarcux was perhaps the most favorite animal of dungeon keepers. Dungeon keepers developed many ways to clean their dungeons after battles. They discovered that the most effective way was to domesticate a wild Dommarcux. The dungeon keeper had to lure a Dommarcux away from its horde and capture it. Usually the Dommarcux would be kept in a cell at the end of the dungeon. When a cleansing of the dungeon was needed at the end of one fierce battle or another, all the dungeon keeper had to do was to open the doors to the Dommarcux cell. The Dommarcux would gobble up all remaining body parts, and lick up the blood stains with its long tongue. The Dommarcux was not a stupid animal and was well aware of the deal and most of the time happily retreated to the cell after the meal to await the next battle. Many dungeonkeepers gave their pets female names. This particular Dommarcux was called "Anya".

    concept:
    The Kx'yskah (Cave Worm)
The Kx'yskah are subterrenean foragers that live solitary lives sustaining themselves completely on dead or decaying matter. They generally avoid civilized or populated areas, but due to recent dwarven residential subdivisions, the Cave Worm's natural habitat is being destroyed. Dwarven miners and developers are now combating against the ever growing Kx'yskah population and cohabitation situation that has arisen. Their saliva is extremely toxic and highly corrosive. The Cave Worm's will use their spit not only to decompose material, but also to burrow. Unfortunately for the dwarves, the Cave Worms tend to burrow into the foundations of their settlements. Mass urban destruction has been a result of the Kx'yskah's search for sustinence.
The Kx'yskah are devoutly nonagressive creatures. When threatened, they roll themselves into a ball, protected by their massive shell. Dwarves have been unsuccessful in trying to remove the Cave Worms from their societies. Their thick shells protect them from nearly all forms of destruction. Explosives had been used briefly to great effect, but at to steep a cost to the Dwarvern Demolitioners. Kx'yskah inards are even more dangerous than their saliva.

    not accepted entries:

    All WIPs/sketches/not finished yet/placeholder/yaddayaddayadda images...

ZebraHDH, 3ciona, Ifman1, life on the sofa
COW is a weekly activity, your entry is rushed. No need to hurry

    David-david
WIP? No concept? Sorry, couldn't tell if it is done, looked like a sketch...if it was finished, i have hard times to tell where or what the creature is.

    guillemhp
Very nice entry, unfortunately the creatures body is not shown. You can only see the head and some limbs, but that's not enough for an activity which is about creature design

    Thayne, calebgresham
Actually the same i wrote about guillemhps entry

    from yuggoth
    WIP? YES!?

    radu.andrew
    human like rule strikes....NOW!

    Sepulverture
I have a suggestion for your next entry: Finish the creature and forget about the background...if you have time add a bg, but you don't need to...the last times and this time also i have the feeling that you lose the focus on drawing the creature. Concentrate on the creature and if you are finished clean up the image! Color references and rough/grubby pencil strokes always make images look like wips.

    close to rejection:

    ChaoticKnight
You're lucky that i interprete your creature as a worm This way there is no need to show more of the body, but next time be sure to draw the major part of the anatomy if it is not a worm...i guess...

    cotletan
it is a joke. And i won't be a killjoy

    special note:

    Whiteboy
    minimalistic...but i like the pencil rendering...it's a maggot/worm so i don't seek for details...next time i might

I vote for Njoo, great picture. I like the way the dragonhead is not the first thing you notice, it takes some time to really understand what the creature is about.

Next time I hope I can join the competition

I voted for longshao. Its an interesting combination of fatty parts and insectoid pedipalpyness. I like the surrealist open but fused limbs too. The pale yellow-green is an interesting choice of color, and sort of calls back to the mantis qualities as well as the corpulent qualities. I like outside of the box thinking, so that's where my vote goes.

Others I liked include njoo, dragon4lunch, Supervlieg, Nisse-blua, Tom Garden and Jakkas

I'm voting for Vegas Mike in this round to. Really nice colouring and expression on the creature(the body looks a little bit streched though).

My favourites this round were probably Njoo, corrick, longshao, dragon4lunch, Supervlieg, cotletan, JakkaS and Michael Jaecks.

This is always hard. There are so many talented artists here with amizing submissions. This time around I voted for Njoo. I felt the backstory was a little off but the design and application were amazing. I thought Jaeks had a clever idea that was fun and convenient in a cartoonish way. All in all, great submissions folks. Sorry I wasn't able to add to the fun.

Voted for njoo. Excellent rendering, cool concept. Every time I look at it I see something different, which speaks to its complexity. Very nice.

    Other favorites were:
VegasMike - Scared the crap out of me. Seriously. Punched me in the brain.
Jakkas - As always, an amazing rendering. I dig the style. My personal opinion would've been not to give it such a comedic face... that watered down the effect for me.
supervlieg - Best composition out of all of them, I think. My only critique, and this is a technical one, would be the size. That sucker looks like it would bring the dungeon down with it.
longshao - I liked the weirdness of it. A collaboration of insane features... nice!
edujante - Your diagram is kickass. I'm always thrilled to see a good technical breakdown of something.
number9 - I loved the alien aspect of this creature.

    ... also...
whiteboy - It's a little basic (though sometimes "basic" is what you need), but I had to give you respect for the pencil rendering. Very nice.

For me it's a tossup between longshao and njoo. Njoo's rendering is perfect (except for the black in the shadows) and has a wonderful Frazetta-esque quality. The creature design is a good one as well. Longshao's creature is startlingly bizarre and unique. So yeah, it's a tough one, and I've yet to decide.

It was really different and it popped out to me through the whole thread. Great job!
Dragon4lunch: I liked the amount of detail!
Tom Cardin: I love the multiple images to express the whole idea. Great work.
Cotletan: its been said 8 million times but thats hilarious!
Supervlieg: the pic is wild. crazy rendering!
VegasMike: nice pic. its a little ahrd to focus on and see right away, but once i concentrate on it awhile, it really is a great pic.
sgtpepper: love the color scheme and atmosphere!
DECYPL: really liked this one too! love the style.

Anyways good thread. I think im going to seriously consider pencil on the next one though. cant seem to get votes with my ps skills...

Best compozition, best lighting (very realistic), saliva looks great, blood is iky, kind of big for a dungeon's corridors but still a winner.

Njoo: very close second but I think it looks too much like a squid.
Dragon4lunch: very good lighting, I can feel the wetness too.
Tom Garden: again, good lighting, acid steam looks good.
Note to others: acid is not necessarily green.
Longshao: very freaky and flylike, nice.
    Trashy: good rendering.

PS: This was my first COW, I've only just become a member of CA 2 weeks ago and I got to say, I'm a bit intimidated. Great stuff by everybody !

I'd love some constructive criticism : my sketchbook TY for taking the time

ChaoticKnight I'm a noob at PS too (this COW was my very first use of PS). I made the contour by hand, scaned it and then rendered it in PS. Mabe that is the solution for u as well. I’m sure we will both progress if we keep at it though.

What a variety! I'm sorry I wasn't able to play but those of you who did, great job. Looks like a whole lotta bugs in this one.

Voted Supervlieg. Beautiful lighting and overall dungeony feel. The play by play was really informative as well. Creature does seem a bit large to be stuck in a little dungeon, but I guess that's what you get when there's food aplenty and no reason to leave. Composition is amazing. Makes me feel like I'm really there. Awesome job.

    Runner up: Njoo
Man o' man can you paint. I think there's been a few too many octopi round here lately though so I had to pass. Badass picture.

    Other notables:
Flimi This guy had a lot of potential and you've got the skills to make it look fleshy and disgusting, but as I'm sure you already know, too dark.
MJaecks Leebuvaac looks flat and the background while set up nicely is a bit distracting. Kind of hard to tell what's going on with the face. I love your style though and the design combined with the story are very cool.
TomC I love the presentation you've got here, but the main image of your creature seemed to get the least attention. Maybe more emphasis on him rather than the floor.
TomG Great painting, interesting creature. Scale looks deceiving though compared to the background, and I can't help but ask, is there a draft in there? Looks like the rain's being blown to one side.
Nisse-Bula Smooooooth. Maybe too much. Your style and technique always looks good, but lack of texture makes for a plastic like appearance. Snake scales are excellent. That right hand is a little out of place.
Jakkas Straight out of "Big trouble in little China" I could see this guy licking the toe jam from between Lo-Pan's toes. Hilarious!
VegasMike Dynamic as hell. He looks like he'll get the job done and then some. Nice angle!
Dragon4lunch I hate to say it but, Jackelope. Sweet painting.
SgtPepper This one had me rolling with laughter. Talk about some blue balls!
CorrickAwesome. Really like the colors and layout.
Longshao Most interesting desgin. What's he eating? Pig or person?
Edujante That bit of light in the painting is hypnotizing. Diagram looks great!

Voted for njoo . I love the creature design and the bold colours used. The backstory is neat too.

Corrick nearly got my vote. Your creature is very original too, and its painted fantastically. I think its good that you changed the background, as before the sense of scale was a bit confusing. Nice work.
VegasMike Cool creature and composition. Good work with the environment too.
Dragon4Lunch I love your rats, and the fact that they live in packs. I can imagine them cleaning the dungeon much better than solitary creatures.

Great entries everyone. See you next round
