    Hey tom!

Great book you got here.. Some troubles with your last two images tho' . The nude one has some really crazy porportions.. Its about 10 heads long, the major proportion problem is at the over-body .. its just to long.. I bet you stared yourself blind at it, because its nicly refined!

The second one, the latest, takes a while to read, and even after a while, its hard to make out whats going on.. Exagerrate and make it obvious to us

Keep it up! I'll be watching.

Very nice work. Your portraits and nudes are great (love the digital glazes), and all the studied practice of faces and figures you do is paying off. Agree with Dile on the above points - the woman is does look too long and i still don't really understand what is happening in the post #92 image.

    Good work, keep at it!

Dile - cheers for looking and the great crits!! I've adjusted both pics - the female model is now spot on to the reference in terms of proportion - i did a side by side line up and just tweaked the crotch and added some hipbone. I'll leave this one where it is now though. Glad you liked the rendering, was thinking hard on this one about my tones and colour. Also second one - its only a quickie but i've refined some bits to make the designs pop out a bit more, dont have much time this weekend to render it up as nicely as i'd like to

Puck - thanks for looking! And cheers for the comment! I'll continue to work on making sensical images hehe

Thats sooo much better! nice updating on both.. On the second one, the "sword movement" you added, maybe make the half of that cut guy thats far from us a bit more transparent , just to make it even more obvious.. Hehe, I know you said you didn't had time for it, so its just a suggestion!

    Nice job man

Here is a wip sketchsheet for this weeks CHOW! Just showing some doodles on poses and trying to paint pale skin tones, plus some hardbrush roughs to get an idea of how i want the character to look and what she could have on her. The idea is a warped plant like woman, in a cold place. She has this massive plant like growth over her shoulder which is pumping powerful goodness into her body, and her hand will have some bright orangy glowing spores coming out of it. I imagine her to be a boss character for a game perhaps or something similar. But i want to make it very creepy!

crits and suggestions are welcome as always!

Update on the image! This is nearly finished, i might add some more conceptual elements to it. Lots of tweaks yet to be made, but hopefully i'm getting better with my skin tones, rendering and speed!

Stoph - looking forward to it too, trev said hes get us all sorted on AIM or messenger to chat, so chat soon!

bradjames - thanks man! the figure studies that look traditional are all from photo ref - for a course i'm doing (which has almost ended sadly) but the chow and chow sketches i do are generally from my head. But i can only do those from having studied the real thing!

Autumnal Dream - lovely username! glad you think my sketchbook is rising, hopefully in quality and not just content! Please do stop by! And tell your friends!

I just looked through all of your sketchbook, BEAUTIFUL! I really love your palette and your head studies are great. I aspire to be as good as you. Sometimes though, I am sad because every so often a painting of yours will start to look like a photograph... and once that happens its not as good. A painting is beautiful because its a painting. I love when I can see brush strokes, they add so much to the piece. Great work and I can't wait to see more.

Hey Tom, love your LMS entry and seeing the animated gif really brings the process to life. I'm blown away by all the body studies, those are amazing, and the black and white concept character thumbs really get me inspired to try the same thing myself. I also love the reddish yellow demon guy at the top of that post, though, he has a fantastic sense of energy with all those brushstrokes. Great skechbook!
