    Hi,

Any suggestions, critiques and comments regarding my work are highly appreciated!

You have a very nice feel for form. I think your concepts will improve by doing several hundred thumbnails to find shapes that interest you while ignoring (for the most part) the quality of the drawings.

Also, I don't know if you can do this with acrylics but really dilute your initial drawings in paint so you won't be afraid to paint over them at later stages. Right now you're avoiding them and it's making the thicker brush strokes follow your lines rather than the model. I look forward to seeing more!

Thanks John, I live somewhere between Cologne and Bonn, and you?

Ok, after practicing gestural/cartoony drawing with the prismacolor pencils on Schoellershammer marker paper (does somebody know a better brand that does not look as gritty on erased areas?), I tried my hand at some creatures.

The first one is a creature species that lives in tribes in which they determine their hierarchy by fighting against each other with their pointy arms attached to their heads. Those who retain the best eye sight win...

The second one is some kind of mutant:

Some observations I made are that my half-tone areas need to be larger, as it seems like I'm going from highlight to core shadow immediately. Also, the core and cast shadow value needs to be the same all over the image.
And the usual stuff (need stronger silhouttes, better value patterns/easier to read), but I would need more planning for these.

At the moment I would love to paint more, but when I see these basic drawing/value problems I still have, it would feel like a waste of paint.

Great stuff all around. As others have mentioned, you really have an eye for forms...very fluid, even when you're petting the lines.

I especially like that you let the shading define the forms more than hard lines. This is an area I struggle with a lot, so this is all a good source of inspiration for me :p
